Rap/Hip hop is not my cup of tea at all, so i would not know any songs by any hip hop or rap artsit. From my experience, people that like all the classic rock to the metal tend to shy away from the hip hop rap genre. The singing part would be not kinda boring cus' correct me if i'm worng, but rap has that one tune talking sort of lyrics. But then again, the drum part might be interesting, lot of beats in rap i guess.
But, having one, mabye two rap/hip hop songs in rock would not be that bad. As long it dose not get into that really geto ganster rap.

The only rap i would accept would have to be some older rap... most of the new rap sucks... take a phrase, repeat times infinity and add some refrences to hoes, booze, an tokein up (i will admit... some new rap songs are decent, but theres so few... bla bla bla)... be a bit repetitive tho, dontcha think?

It would have to be hip hop that actually has the instruments in it and not synth beats though
like outkast or something

i understand a good amount of people who play this game only listen to rock or metal...and dont get me wrong..i listen to EVERYTHING..i love music..of all genres..anbd i always expect a good percentage of closeminded people when it comes to music..because thats just how life is..
i do agree that it would have to be an old school song..like the ones i mentioned...go download rockbox from run dmc..that song would be awesome
im trying to think of good rap that has rock roots..most of todays rap sucks...im a 80's early 90's rap fan
i cant say that any rap in teh game would sck..you have to understand that ALOT of people play these games...and most of the people i know who play them never even heard half of these songs...but im sure they would love a song that they actuallyknow..
its just a suggestion...im kinda trying to feel it out and see where it goes...

im not saying it wouldn't be good to attract other audiences by putting rap in. its just that there are never any good instrumentals in any rap song i've heard, and thats what this game is about, isn't it?

its called ROCK band.
i'm all for doing rap/hip-hop/whatever genres, just in a seperate game. Harmonix has got a monopoly on the music game genre as far as home consoles are concerned, and so they could put out a Hip-Hop Game or whatever with similar periphreals.

Please god no.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind hip hop - I even have this weird obsession with House of Pain - but not in Rock Band. I know that I personally and most of you guys are foaming at the mouth to drop a face-melting guitar solo and pound the drums until Lars Ulrich's head explodes (also known as "throwing down the rock gauntlet"), not "lay down a phat beat" or whatever you kids say.
If you want to play a hip hop game buy Get On Da Mic (and quite possibly cry yourself to sleep; to quote Penny Arcade "it's like God's punishment for an evil world").

I agree, I hope I dont offend anyone out there, but this game is titled ROCK Band. So I would really hate to see hip hop or rap in this game. One of the main reasons I got Guitar Hero in the first place was that it was ALL ROCK. Hip hop and rap are all over the media these days, so please PLEASE dont take this small stage away from us Rock lovers!!!

hey man i love rock too...i love all music...
maybe im wrong by calling it hip hop...
hip hop by todays standards is nothing but recycled dribble that basically makes no sense or has no message
im referring back to a time when it was pure..and there were LOUD WAILING guitars..did you guys even listen to thatlink i posted>?? come on now how could you say thats not a good song just because of the style of lyrics..it would be fun to rap to as well...
i understand its called rock band but it would make a killer encore i think

i realize that old rap/hip-hop had guitars, but none of it can compare to the guitarists of metallica, maiden, zeppelin, etc.
there is no way rap will make the set list for ROCK band, but you might be able to hope for a bonus song or DLC.
