Dallas/DFW Texas Band Wanted

I'm looking to form a band where we can meet regularly and play. I can do some songs on the guitar on hard, i've done like 1 or 2 songs on hard on the drums, medium on vocals, and never tried hard on bass, but I'd imagine I can do it. We have 2 people already. So we are looking for 2 others to fill in the blanks. I'll pickup the slack on whatever positions we cannot fill.

I can meet in person and drive, but if y'all want, I have a 65" HD tv and surround at my house. We could meet here. The only problem is that I broke my footpedal, so I am waiting for a new one. They said it should be here by Wednesday. Until then we could play at one of your places. I don't mind driving and and free Tuesday all day and some afternoons and evenings.

Should we have everyone post available times? And who would like to host first? We could make it a round robin like meeting where we meet at a different person's house every time.

I live outside of downtown Dallas, have a small apt with neighbors that don't care how load you are (mostly they can't hear the 5.1 at maxed out at 2am unless there in the hall way, think walls)

Have 37" lcd, 5.1 and a 1.5 bed 1 bath apt so it's not fancy but it loud and user friendly.

If you use a PS3, that means you have to use our instruments, from what I know, PS3 stuff won't work on xbox

c3ntrfuge and I had a jam session on Monday, he did expert drums the entire way, the boy has got skillz. I played hard guitar. After 6 hours of jamming, I was about to kill over and called it a day.
Lets see if we can get some more people going, and make it a regular thing.

I can play on hard but it's difficult for me because it's too slow, It's a little easier for me on Expert, I'm just no ACE at it.

Pretty much any evening works for me (week or weekend).

I'm about 1/2 through Hard drum now, so I can get by.

Vocals - I 100% two songs on medium yesterday, but I still say I suck (and medium is probably easy for everyone).

Obviously still best at Guitar. Just checked rankings too, was up to #4 on score duel... Down to #7 now but haven't played in a couple days. :(

i can't play or drive with no shores, can't help it, i have some very warn in shores what are not heavy that i ware when i take my car to the track so it's not like i'm waring boots. i just play farther up the pedal then most people when there's doubles. triplets, 8th16th note bass count runs, or when it's like 4/4 time, 1=snare/hit-hat 1.25=bass 1.5snare/hit-hat 1.75=bass, i.e. the 8th note switching playing ok go - here we go again on hard

I just ordered mine about half an hour ago, and a few hours ago, my pedal broke for the first time, making a new record on Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden? with 160K+ pts. and it's all because I was going all silly on the ending and I started pressing the pedal like crazy and it broke :mad: Well, that makes me #2 on that song for now for PS3. That Nelson guy really tops everything on the PS3 drums... I wish to meet him!

On another note, I won't be able to jam with you guys right now even if I could still borrow instruments. Perhaps in a few weeks I could.

yeah tomorrow it is, c3ntrfuge has a good setup. We'll see if we can start early and people can trickle in when they are free. I'd recommend reenforcing your drum pedals, works like champ. I just duct taped some strong items to the top of the pedal and it won't bend at all.. should last forever.

I think I'm going to get there about 2.30 or so. If you want to carpool, I can meet you at the george bush and 35 intersection. I plan on playing 2-3 hours and if it's good maybe a little more. I just called the place and they said it costs 5$ an hour to play and you can bring your own guitar or games. they already have rockband there, so, I'm not too worried. so i just got back from best buy and it's not quite what we thought it would be. it's just a huge demonstration, not a tournament. it's kinda neat, because it IS on a tour bus, but the only songs available to even play are the demo songs. they're passing out tshirts, bumper stickers, and crappy rock band drum sticks. i'm gonna go back before i leave for the day and see if i can snag a couple more shirts, but the event isn't really worth the drive for centrifuge and imagine. i'm gonna head over to centrifige's when i get off work, so i guess i'll see you later.

So on other note i was curious this morning to see how much I had improved on the drums. I checked a medium score i had on Sufragete City - A Song I struggled with intiially on medium.

My old score was 3 stars - 43,000 aprox

So after a few weeks of practicing

5 Stars - 98,000 99%


Guess I'm improving quite a bit.. I was able to do the Who on hard today Drums.

Yeah, it was cold, but we made it through. I liked round 1with over a million points on Dani California.

Nice job on the drum improvement. Now i guess it's time to start working your way through the drums on hard or expert. You know that I don't mind switching out on the drums. That stuff is tiring as you well know.

I finally beat run to the hills on hard using my secret strategy of don't miss the bass pedal and try not to freak out. Both are key to passing that devilish song. Now that hard mode is done, I am stuck on the worst song ever, Fall Out Boy - Dead on Arrival. Boy, do I hate that song!

We need to find a day to play the endless set list on hard. I bet that would put us over a million fans! Whoohoo!

yeah, we unlocked it a while back. If we started at 5, it would probably take us at least until midnight before completing it and we can't just leave it for another day. we can however, pause the game and take breaks. I'm willing to do it all on hard. It would probably be best if we had 4 expert players over so we could sail through the songs without any hiccups. I would be willing to switch off on guitars and vocals on any song too, b/c I think you can drum on hard and so can sorren. let me know when is the best time to do it.

Figured I'd toss my name into the Dallas arena. I do guitar on expert (start dropping into the 4 stars territory on some of the last two setlists) and live just on the south edge of Plano. My gamertag is NowMoreThanEver. Just looking to see if there's anyone in the area looking to rock out some and not, should I be invited to visit, cut my body up and put it in the freezer. Pet peeve of mine.

I know you can't throw a rock without hitting at least three guitarists, but I figured I'd throw it out there. My singing and drumming are atrocious, even if I can limp through the latter on Medium.

omg i have to tell you about how my night went when i left the group

so i couldn't find my keys at centrifuges, but we finally decided to leave there around 3:30. cuz of how far david and i live from his place we didn't get back to my car until 5, after we dropped back by his place to drop everyone else off and come all the way south to my place to get my spare keys. i found my keys in the back seat of my car, which i feel super stupid about, but uber excited i found my keys.

on my way back home i got a flat. i pulled into 711 and tried to use my phone which failed, epically, cuz the stupid thing was dead. then i went to find a pay phone and all 3 in the area were dead. then i go in the 711 to try to call my dad and he doesn't pick up. so i'm screwed. i just decided to buck it up and change the tire myself, but this really nice guy saw me struggling and helped me out. i finally got back on my way around 6:15, and on my way home, my SPARE got flat. ><; curse my luck. this time i was really close to home and my dad picked up when i called from the pay phone that actually worked. and now it's 7:15 and i just got home.

i haven't been on xbox live in forever, and i just looked and compared my achievements to centrifuge's, and wow! all i can say is congrats, man! he finished the drum expert tour AND got 100&#37; drumming. you deserve major kudos for that.

i haven't played it yet, but i watched a video of the expert guitar. for the most part, it is fairly repetitive, but the solos are epic. i'd never be able to pass that song... it sounds like it'd be a challenge on drums, too.

as far as dates go, i have to babysit all day sunday, but do we really wanna play rock band on super bowl sunday? i'll be free again next week wednesday and sunday.

haha Thnks guys! The drums aren't too bad. I think I 5 starred them the only time I played them, but I failed siva :S by the smashing pumpkins. Sunday probably won't be the best day for rockband, but TODAY is a good day. Does anyone want to play today?

...BTW, I beat run to the hills with a friend doing my kick pedal (haha). All other songs were completed legitimately.
