Drums won't work

Just purchased rb2 and went to set up drums....put batteries in, turned power on, turned on ps3, plugged in adapter hit connect button (on adapter) ((flashing red light)), then go to hit ps button on drums and nothing at all no flashing lights (on drums) or anything...please help.

the adapter flashes red but won't connect.

guitar works fine.
