Trouble with Rock Band Guitar (PS3)

I'm having trouble with my wireless guitar controller for rock band on ps3. Sometimes when I'm playing, I'll play a long note (the one where you strum once and hold the note) but it'll stop short and make that sound when you play a wrong note. This also happens when I'm playing the single notes as well. It only happens sometimes randomly and usually goes away after a while. I try to disconnect my guitar and connect it again, but it still continues. This happening to anyone else and does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it without having to send it back?

1. Check or double check lag.
2. Blow in the spaces above and below the strum bar where it moves up and down.
3. Exchange batteries.

I've tried to change the batteries and tried doing the lag thing (not sure if I did it right) but they didn't work. I think the simplest one of all (the blowing in the spaces) actually fixed it :D. Now all I can do is see how well it works. Thanks for the help.
