I know this is super early to even be suggesting this or thinking of this Idea.. but you never know so I feel the earlier the better.

I don't know if HMX is planning on developing/releasing a RB2 but if they are.. I'd like to know if they'll be offering backwards compatibility for the DLC that we get.

For those that have purchased all the DLC Songs and Packs that are released as of this current date we've spent ~$28.50 on the DLC alone. With more packs due out that's going to rack up slowly but surely (depending upon musical taste and the like). And if HMX is thinking of making a RB2 I'd like some assurance that folks that bought the original DLC can have backwards compatibility for it so they can still continue to play those songs if a new version of RB is released.

If anyone would like to contribute there thoughts on this I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

If anyone seriously is buying ALL of the DLC they have to be either

1.Rich & Bored
2.The most musically open minded person on the face of the earth , and rich XD

Cherry Bomb and Brass in pocket. Cherry Bomb is not a good song imo. And I think that BIP would be pretty boring, as it is a mellow song.

Yeah I also wonder what Harmonix plans to do when they release Rock Band 2, granted I don't think it will be for a while.
I mean if an online BWT patch is released (which I think it will be the near future), and songs keep coming out the ying yang we won't need a new game any time soon.
I read before that Harmonix doesn't want to make this game something that is re released every year but rather a platform to build on with DLC. I'm paraphrasing and I don't have the original article to quote sorry.

I mean Harmonix could release other content as DLC like new arena's and effects and bundle them with songs as well to keep the game fresh as time goes by. Plus I don't know about you guys but I'm waiting for Cowbell Hero :D

It's a great song. But it's too mellow for me.

I'm not rich or bored, I just want more tracks. I am musically open-minded, though, as everyone should be. I bought all but 3 so far.

Not gonna happen.

Why do you say that? Harmonix said they didn't have time to fit in in and were looking into it. They never came out and said it's not going to happen.
