My 11 year old sister doesn't play drums. I got this game and she wanted to play with me. After about an hour of playing on easy, she decided to move up to medium. She held her own and did fine.
My mom (45) wanted to try the game out. She started to play drums on easy and said "I'm not very good at this". Notice she didn't say it was too hard. She practiced for about 30 minutes and she too was able to play with us.
I don't play drums but I started off on medium and only failed 2 songs on my way to completing solo tour.
It seems like there are two type of people: those who can't do something and try harder to get better at it and those who see a challenge and say that it should be easier.
I really don't get all of the drum complaints. Why can't you just play it for more than an hour? The game hasn't even been out a week yet and you have enough hubris to say that because you can't play on easy, most people won't be able to get it.
Have you actually considered the fact that, objectively, you suck and/or are lazy and it's not the games fault.
EDIT: I play hard drums now

Medium drums is fine. The jump to hard is a pretty big gap.

My fiance is playing the drums on Medium, and he seems to be doing very well. He played on Easy for an hour or so before moving up. Since he's getting 5 stars on almost every song, I can see him moving on to Hard soon. I'm still on Easy, as I've been focussing more on the singing tour.

Wait till he gets to GGHT! That is the first song I have failed on medium. The quick red/bass alternation does my timing completely

The jump to hard has always been a big gap. It's by design. I think the hardest part for people is getting the rythm right and hitting the bass drum on the upbeat. In my oppinion, drum difficulty is pretty good. The lower difficulties let you get used to it, while the higher ones give you a good challenge.

I agree. same goes for the fan cap, your suipposed to get better but they dont want you to beat the game in a few days. its supposed to take time and by the end you can handle hard and expert
