downloading songs into rock band

purchased rock band for son for christmas and want to get some of his favorite songs downloaded so he can play them. Is this possible with an mp3 player and if so how? thank you

I assume you're asking if you can use your MP3s on the RB game? If so, no, especially if you're talking about the first Rock Band.

If you mean RB2, then you can play over your MP3s with the drums, but nothing else. Unfortunately, the game can't automatically chart songs.

However, what you can do is go to the Music Store from within the RB game and see if any of your son's favorite songs are there for purchase.
