I got 5 gold stars on one of the bonus songs on expert guitar. I got 99% on the song.

I have the same question,I got 100% on Maps on expert and no Gold stars
, in another song , i don't remember the which one was,i Got the five gold stars and a miss 3 times

It's about score, not note percentage.

Yep, based on score only...gold stars are basically like achieving a 6th star, and can only be achieved on expert difficulty.

Interesting, I thought it was 100%. Is it required to do Expert strictly for gold star or is it "the only way you can get a score this high is to be on expert"?
P.S. I'm a GH vet and I've seen the phrase "FC" thrown around a lot for what I assume to mean 100%ing a song. What does "FC" stand for?

FC stands for Full Combo. On GH I and II when you got gold stars, it was 100%. FC is a step above 100%. It is 100% without breaking your combo

To be fair, full comboing many of those songs IS F'n Crazy.
