I am new to the forums and haven't seen any posts about the headphone jacks on the X360 version of Rock Band. I have only played the demo at Best Buy and I couldn't see the jacks on any of the instruments. I am probably a dumb a$$ but I need to know. Thanks.

They are tiny holes on the front of the drum controller panel and the end of the guitar... and by the way, the headset adapters don't work anyway.

Come on now. They semi-work.

Um, by "semi-work", do you mean they don't? I haven't been able to find anyone who can get them to work. Do yours?

Mine work fine.
Just make sure they'll all the way onto the headset.

Have you tested them in both the guitar and drums?

Can I use the headset that I got for the 360 so that if I'm playing drums I can sing?

nope. the headset has terrible quality so it isnt good enough to register for the game. so you have to be cool like me and use my mic stand to put in front of you.

you can use the headset, but you have to create a PLAYER 2 to use the controller/headset with. You can't just plug it into the drums and sing. This thread is about the headset adapters, though.

You probably just need to push it in a little more.
You push it real good. :D
EDIT: I never knew a headset could poop.

No it is the guitar that poops the mic jack out.....I push it in there as far as it goes and it poops bout half of it back out so idk if it works or not.

ClinTrojan,
You're using the adapter it came with, right? If you are, maybe you got a faulty mic jack (or plug)?

Sorry, I still laugh every time you say 'poops'. I think you mean 'pops'. If theres nothing inside of your mic jack (try blowing on it or cleaning it somehow maybe?) then you might have just flat out gotten a bad one. Maybe someone else can shine a little more light on the problem if it's not a faulty jack, but I'm out of ideas.

no it dont pop....more of a poop it back out, I dont think I need to give any further details then that hopefully. The guitar works just the mic jack keep poopin my mic back out. I not tried cleaning it, maybe a lil can of air or something?

The adapters work if you push down hard to plug them in, but I'm sure sure if anyone is aware that the wires degrade the quality of the sound and voice BAD.....enough that warrented me to goto Radio shack to by a better adapter so the quality of the sound was WAY better.

I wonder why Harmonix chose to do the adapter thing instead of an insert designed for the stock headset input? The stock input keeps the headset secure and accessible for volume control instead of having the weight of the stock insert clip dangling below the adapter which could lead to pooping or popping. Does anyone know why the adapter decision was made?

Probably because it allows them to mass produce the guitar pieces/molds for use in both the 360 and PS3 versions

Adaptor worked pretty ok for me in the drum set once I realizied I really had to jam the mic into it. Plugging it into the guitar however was....weird?
It went in and held but I got sound in both the headset AND from my tv.
