I've got to say I'm a lot more skeptical of Rock Band's promises of libraries of DLC for this game now. We just got the first downloadable song packs for Guitar Hero 2 and the prices are ridiculous--$6.25 plus tax for 3 songs ported from GH1. That's a prohibitive price, even worse than GameStop's claimed peripheral prices for this game.Hopefully someone on the business side of the game reads these forums, but don't make that mistake again! If we get promises that DLC will be at a reasonable price at launch, we'll be a lot more inclined to save our money for Rock Band over GH3, supposedly coming out around the same time.

$6.25 is too much for 3 songs.

You can go on Amazon and buy an 11-song album for $8

They're all a buzz with this DLC pricing.

Is this the future of DLC for XBox? Is Microsoft setting the prices? If that is the case, I'm not sure if it's really worth it for me. They seem to be a bit pricey.

Will PS3 do the same?

The horror stories I've seen posted including people that rushed to buy GH2 on XBox when it first was released with the intention of buying the DLC when it was available without knowing what the DLC prices were going to be. Now after seeing them, they are saying that they would have just stuck with the PS2 version that they had.

I think I'll just wait until after the game is released AND the DLC has been priced and posted. I can't jump into a new game console platform without knowing these answers now.

Obviously, Harmonix has no control over pricing. I'm sure that if they wanted to, it'd be free.

I bought GHII 360 (after already owning both GH1/2 for PS2) with full will to buy EVERY song released on the marketplace. Turns out, RO/MS/Activision found a price that will ensure that I buy 0 songs from them.

Please don't make this mistake, guys.

You can't really compare a GH song to a song on an album though, since they have to put in the bass line as well.

Not saying the price is good, but it takes more work than just recording the song.

( I NEVER buy EA products anymore, but for anything made by hmx I make an exception)
