Hi everybody, I'm new here :)

Been lurking for a while but I just can't resist adding my own input into the Rock Band discussion; I've been looking forward to a game like this for years and years.

First off, I'm into metal and there's been a lot of talk about double pedals/bass. I think HMX could still put in metal songs, but the player just does half as many strokes. This wouldn't be a whole lot easier, because the right foot would have to go just as fast as normal in like a blast beat, it just wouldn't have to synchronise with the left foot. HMX could also put out a second kick pedal peripheral later and then maybe release a patch over the net that adds twice as many kicks to songs with double kick. However, another problem here is I'm pretty sure having heaps of kicks would make it hard to follow given the interface they've chosen with the drums, because it would mean a whole heap of those horizontal lines one after the other. Who knows, but given HMX's pedigree, here's hoping metal gets a strong showing like it has in the Guitar Hero games :)

It's funny that I am listening to "Die For Metal" by Manowar as I'm reading this. If it were possible I'd have an all metal GH or RB. TRUE METAL WILL NEVER DIE! FIGHT FOR METAL BROTHER!

I am truly scared about some of the songs that are going to more than likely make the game.

I love death / metalcore, but some of the speeds played are insane for even an advanced musician.

I cannot fathom what a song like "the light that blinds" is going to be like with the RB drum controller.

If the wii has issues with controllers getting thrown about and things busted, then RB is gonna need stainess steel / kevlar / titanium retention hardware.

Yes, Manowar owns and I've been praying for an all Death/Power/Progressive Metal Guitar Hero Game, oh and I'm sorry, but Metalcore is an abortion of music, no offense, but Death metal is choice, so I won't judge you based upon that :D Your point is well thought because that song would be terrible with one bass pedal. I personally use the Pearl Eliminator Double Pedal and that thing friggin' rips, so I can't imagine playing any metal without a Drum Peripheral of that caliber.

I just hope they decide to at least have an option to buy an extra pedal for the [hopefully] insane songs they're gonna have.

I'd be awesome if they put "My Fears Have Become Phobias" (As Blood Runs Black) in the game. The double kick at the end of that song is unreal...
