You know as a video game aficionado and programmer, I find this insulting. I know that VGA wants to avoid involving publishers and developers to "protect" their "credibility," but involving nothing but pop stars and celebrities who probably see gaming as an aftersight and don't take it seriously is very insulting and demeaning. I'd rather see the celebrities of gaming involved and presenting, as in the people actually involved in making the games being recognized.
I watched the VGAs once and that was the first one. I have never even bothered with it again. Also just nominating and recognizing the most over-hyped, over saturated and best selling titles, no matter how shallow they may be, does nothing to build or protect their "credibility" among gamers. They have none and will never have any credibility as an award show for games. It's award shows like this and G4 which will prevent gaming from ever being taken seriously as an art form and technical achievement by the mainstream in my opinion.

Eh, I think Kourtney is the best looking of the three.

Don't be offended, it isn't personal. It's business. They want people to watch the show and they'll get a bigger audience by having celebrities give out the awards and perform.
Without the celebrities it probably wouldn't even get on TV.

Yeah, you're right. I kind of sounded like one of those people who believe just because a band gets popular that they sell out. It's still frustrating because growing up with games and seeing their progression from toys to an immersive art form is something very close to my heart. The mainstream still needs to get away from that old-think of all games being simply toys meant for children.

Because you're passionate about gaming and in the industry you probably have a different view on this kind of thing. So I can totally understand the frustration.
Money talks though, money talks.

i agree with you ArmeniusLOD i also feel as a gamer for 14 years (i'm seventeen years old) i feel this game show is a discrimination to the thing that we spent our whole lives devoted to that thing is gaming and it's being killed by the mainstream just like there killing the metal. I just hate the mainstream with a passion sometimes i wish it could just go away but that's impossible even though how much i wish at night about how the mainstream could go away I know that it will never go away because the mainstream is just little girls and twelve year old boys it's times like this that i think that our society is going to drive it's self into destruction because in our future everybody will be spoiled and corrupted and to dependent on other people personally i think parents should show these kids the true reality that it's not cool to be a gangster and that unless you practice an instrument you won't be a rock star and i think the mainstream is preventing a good future because our kids will all be out of reality and in there own little world but then again that's just my opinion.

THANK YOU! I have no idea why people think she's even remotely cute, same with Paris Hilton. Nasty!
It has rap cause Spike Lee prefers it. Not fact, but merely a suggestion.

They invited me, but the Mythbusters blew up my F-150 again, which makes it difficult to travel.
