Exactly as the title says. I get my mic, push the small cord into it as hard as I can, slip on the little thing to keep it attached, still doesnt work. No audio, no mic. Tried several times. Is it the drum/guitar or is it the converter?

Are you turning on one of your standard controllers? If not...no mic.

Headset doesn't work on drum/guitars for me either, can't send or receive noise. They work when I use regular controllers however.
i have a headset that doesn't need the Adapter, so i don't think its the adapter. Is it the instruments?

Yup, the adapter. I can't get anything using the drums or guitar and it frustrates me because it could be the adapter or it could be the drum/guitar's microphone unit.

I can't get the Headset to work with the guitar or drums?....Been trying for a couple hrs now. Does it seem to work with the Headset directly into the controller your using to navigate the game?

I don't remember where exactly, but last night I saw a post that answered this question. The adapter is not for singing/instrument playing at the same time. It's so you can use your headset for voice chat when playing an instrument online. If you want to sing and play at the same time, you have to set the mic up in a controller.
Another way to look at it is every instrument (mic included) requires a controller port.
