GH WT "What Vers. should I get?" question

Alright guys.

Simple question.


First a bit of back info...

I own a PS3 and 360

I play RB2 on my PS3.

Should I get GHWT on PS3 or 360

Not getting GHWT is NOT an option :D

I know RB2 is the better game but GHWT still has some good stuff going for it.

I was thinking I should just get it on Ps3 so that I could use the guitar as a second one for both RB2 and GHWT and just have the two drumsets around incase I feel like using either one...


tbh I can't think of a really compelling reason to buy GHWT on 360, even though I've intially asked for it on 360 (I can still make it PS3 though).

If someone can give me the pros and cons that'd be nice... :p

Whenever I do end up playing It it'll be likely 70 percent drums, 20 percent bass (I'm really digging the new open note mechanic on bass), 10 percent guitar.

I dont play it as often as RB, but I'm sure my play time will pick up more with DLC. And I strictly play drum's so might not work good.

Maybe, I have 5 guitars (2 RB1 PS3 guitars, 1 RB2 PS3 guitar, 1 360 Aerosmith LP Guitar, and 1 PS2 GH2 guitar), and 1 drumset and soon I'll probably have 3 mikes.

I should make things simple and keep stuff to ps3 if possible...

I need to sell those RB1 PS3 guitars haha.

You like having all your DLC clumped into one file so that you can't delete DLC effieciently and you like getting DLC two days later? Whatever floats your boat.

I like having 220 gigs of space instead of 13,wich is down to 6.3.

I like that my PS3 is hooked up through HDMI and I'm stuck with component on 360 (cause it doesn't have a HDMI port) wich based on DLing the SCIV and Burnout Paradise demos on 360 and comparing them to the PS3 versions either the PS3 or the HDMI is providing FAR superior picture and more importantly in this case,sound.

I like paying actual money wich is now equal in Canada (it was $1 more at the time wich is why I got RB on 360 to begin with) while we're STILL getting ripped off on MS points and I have to wait for sales to get equal value.

I like having a system that hasn't broken 5 times and not having the hassle it was getting the DLC back. I also would've sold it by now instead of putting up with that crap if it wasn't for RB.

I like getting my free DLC on time instead of waiting a week cause I don't play online so obviously wouldn't pay for it.

Then finally of course I'd have every part of both games instead of only 3/4 in GH since I don't have the drums,not that I play them much anyway.

Seeing how I haven't deleted any DLC yet the file clump isn't an issue nor would I have to delete with all that space. 2 days thing might suck but the benifits would outweigh that one negative wich gives 2 days for reviews/video watching too in case there may be an unpleasant suprise with a song.

Yes, because 360 hard drives come in exactly one size and are not in any way replaceable.

Except for that minor detail where 360s have had HDMI ports for a year now, and have always had optical audio ports for digital sound. Try again.

This is pretty much your only real argument, and for US players it's just about nil.

Again, post-launch editions have significantly improved the cooling of the system, and there is a THREE year warranty on RROD.

Dude? It's free. The reason Live is so good is because MS charges for it. If they didn't, it would be marginally better than PSN. They need incentives to get people that are on the fence to go for it. It's 13 cents a day, and significantly less if you buy a card somewhere like eBay or Amazon.

And if you think waiting a week for, as of yet, THREE songs is worse than waiting two days for EVERYTHING else, then I think you need to get your head Z-rayed (yes, Z; Google it).

i got rock band for the 360 only because i had GHII and III on it, so i wanted to use my old guitars. however i wish i had it on the ps3 instead. my 360 keeps acting up between dlc and on disc songs. that and i have the first 360 model (no hdmi) and want to upgrade it to a newer one.

the way i see it, it would cost me almost as much money to switch rockband over to the ps3 from the 360, as it would to upgrade my 360.

my point being: get the most out of your money.

Sure it's replaceable,just not cost effective. The 120 cost more than it did for the 250 I got for PS3.

Except mine doesn't as I got it at launch and none of the 5 replacements had one including the newest one wich is from May of this year.

Of the 5 times RRoD was the problem 2 times.

Live sucks actually. I played with trials and the majority of games were unplayable due to terrible lag but I guess that's what happens when you don't have dedicated servers wich makes me wonder just what all these people are paying for. Gears of War 2 is 13 cents a day too,doesn't mean I'm gonna go buy something I'm not going to use. :rolleyes:

Of course not and it was 2 songs but still I would've got them on time on PS3. While it hasn't applied to RB yet it's particularly stupid with holiday DLC. For example if I had GH 3 on it I wouldn't have gotten the DKM pack untill 4 days after St. Patricks day.

No I'm not,I'm just saying because I got RB on the 360 and had the good sense to get GH 3/WT on the PS3 I can't play drums on GHWT whereas if I got RB on the PS3 to begin with I would've.

Odd, I play on PS3 and 360, and I find the lag on PS3 tremendously worse than on 360.

Yes that is odd because that's what lots of people say yet in terms of lag from what I have played 9/14 lagged on 360 compared to only 1/16 on PS3.

Again, you're generalizing, but I'll concede that I did the same; Elites have had HDMI since release, and all of the most recent revisions (the ones announced at E3) have it, even the Arcade.

I've never heard of anything like this, and I wonder if it has more to do with someone hosting with a connection ill-equipped for it (I'm a terrible host too) than Live itself, since Live consistently gets lauded by consumers and professionals alike.

Fair enough, but this is a thread for recommendations, not personal experiences. Also, I could list a number of reasons TO get the 360 version, probably longer than your list. Similarly to what you're doing, I could sit here all day and talk about vibration and closer sounds and Mii Freestyle, but at the end of the day the 360 and PS3 versions of World Tour outclass the Wii version like crazy.

The fact of the matter is that most interested people, if they have the option, would be better off getting the 360 version.

Blown GPU,discs getting stuck between the system and tray (sure that one is rare) and constant freezing/disc read errors/scratching discs. Then of course there's "Error E74" wich I haven't had happen but seems to be the second most common problem.

4...Promised Land and didn't have to wait for Still Alive. I didn't even bother with Headphones On so I guess that'd be 3.
