It is entirely illegal to misrepresent a consumer product and charge people $60+ dollars for something that isn't going to work as the package states. If you're one on the unfortunate ones like myself who purchased a standalone copy of Rock Band for PS3 you only have a plastic disc in a case unless you have a friend that has a Fender PS3 guitar controller. The PS3 version of this game does not allow any other guitar to work with this game and therefore renders the game useless. This is contrary to the statement on the front of the game case which states; " Rock Band is compatible with most music game controllers". This is an outright lie. Show me all of the music game controllers that are out there today. Now show me the majority (as in "most") of those controllers that are comaptible with the PS3 version of the game. I think you'll find a grand total of NONE!

EA can either provide us with a complete refund for this useless product or provide us with one of these compatible guitars they refer to on the game cover. And while they're at it they can pull this product from the shelves until they have the problem fixed. If this doen't seem fair then perhaps we should just send a letter to the Attorney General's office and let them decide what to do about a multi-million dollar company launching a product and deceiving the consumer. Either launch a product for all game platforms that works - or don't launch it for that platform until it does. You've been doing this long enough to know better.

Wait, so you bought a standalone copy of RB for PS3 despite widespread reports on the Internet that the GHIII controller didn't work with it? And even though it is Activision/Neversoft's actions that have caused this problem, you're blaming EA/Harmonix? And even though EA/Harmonix have put out a statement that they are working on getting the GHIII controller working with their game (even though it doesn't work with the official standards), you want the AG to press charges against them?

Are you out of your mind?

No, you have it backwards. There were widespread reports that the Les Paul DID work with RB. It came from numerous video game/media outlets. But apparently none of them had the means or the foresight to try it out on the PS3. The offical article that the PS3 LP wasn't compatible didn't come out until Nov. 19th the day before release. So, maybe he didn't catch the article.

[Removed Content] lol. I have two fenders and two drum kits (bought two sets so i would have two good guitars, and two drums for "drum-offs"

You got a few things wrong there. It's not entirely Activison/Recd Octane's fault, Harmonix/EA deserve some of the blame too. Also, the "open standard" claim is wrong as even the SIXAXIS controller will not work with the game.

What I am interest in though is your mention of a statement that EA/Harmonix are working on getting the GHIII controller working with Rock Band. Do you have a link? I want to read this. Only statements I've seen so far basically say "address your issues to Red Octane, we're not to blame".

I never mentioned GHIII - I said that the game case falsely advertises that the PS3 version is compatible with most music controllers when it isn't compatible with any. Maybe you should have read what I wrote. EA/HMX is the author of the game and therefore they are liable for this statement - nobody else.

And call me naive for not checking all the resources available out there before I make a purchase. But that shouldn't be necessary when buying a new release of a video game, nor any other product. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to ensure a product works before they put it out there for sale. Ever heard of recalls? EA must be out of their minds if they think they can deceive the consumer with no repercussions. The AG needs to know about this. BTW - do you work for EA or something, because your logic is ridiculous.

I bought the standalone game because I though I can use the SIXAXIS cotnroller.
But apparently I cant. They took away a very important feature that has been there (in rhythm games) from the start! They never did say that the peripherals are 100% necessary to play. So I assumed SIXAXIS will work.

Bottom line is the manufacturer rushed the product resulting in cheaply made instruments and flaws. Whats the reason? MAKING SURE THE GAME IS OUT IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS! so sad.

you can't play with a normal 360 controller either.
