It is entirely illegal to misrepresent a consumer product and charge people $60+ dollars for something that isn't going to work as the package states. If you're one on the unfortunate ones like myself who purchased a standalone copy of Rock Band for PS3 you only have a plastic disc in a case unless you have a friend that has a Fender PS3 guitar controller. The PS3 version of this game does not allow any other guitar to work with this game and therefore renders the game useless. This is contrary to the statement on the front of the game case which states; " Rock Band is compatible with most music game controllers". This is an outright lie. Show me all of the music game controllers that are out there today. Now show me the majority (as in "most") of those controllers that are comaptible with the PS3 version of the game. I think you'll find a grand total of NONE!
EA can either provide us with a complete refund for this useless product or provide us with one of these compatible guitars they refer to on the game cover. And while they're at it they can pull this product from the shelves until they have the problem fixed. If this doen't seem fair then perhaps we should just send a letter to the Attorney General's office and let them decide what to do about a multi-million dollar company launching a product and deceiving the consumer. Either launch a product for all game platforms that works - or don't launch it for that platform until it does. You've been doing this long enough to know better.

Did you change the title to the thread or did you just copy and paste exactly what I just read no more than 2 minutes ago into another thread?

Is it HMX's fault only one other guitar is out there on the market, and happens to not work?

How about posting this on sony's website complaning because they have yet to set up something to allow gh1 and 2 controllers to be used. Perhaps HMX should remake controllers for old games just to dry your tears?

It may not be HMX's fault, but the guy has a point. It says "Rock Band is compatible with most music game controllers" not "this game is designed to work with open standard controllers" or whatever.
It actually say the game works with most music controllers, but it doesn't.

Well, technically....aren't there a lot of USB microphones that he could play the game with?

Actually I've seen alot of people saying they are having trouble finding a USB microphone that does work. Wade through the mess that is the Tech Support forums and you might find the thread. :D

I just wish there was a way to buy the guitar controllers. I have the PS3 bundle, but right now I'm limited to three players - would really like to get the 4th involved without having to buy another entire bundle.

Well, if you add the entire collection of the PS1 & PS2 guitars to the list, you do end up with a lot more than just "one other".
It's a nasty situation really. People obviously assume their existing guitars are going to work because they're selling the PS3 version on its own. It makes perfect sense, except for the fact that they actually don't work atall, and you understand perfectly why people are getting frustrated about it.

4 Music Controllers for PS3 (only count PS3 controllers, other console controllers shouldn't "have" to work with a PS3) are available.
1) GHIII Les Paul
2) RB Drumset
3) RB Mic
4) RB Strat
3 out of 4 (75%) work with Rock Band.
If your talking Guitars, 50% work with RB, but 3rd Party can be on the way.
Now, quit with the "this is illegal!" stuff, you give us PS3 owners a bad name.

You didn't include GH 1 or GH 2 guitar which also work on a PS3.
And the various types of microphones that haven't worked.
Nevertheless, enough with the complaining.

Yea, I had to go back and change it to "PS3 controllers only"

lol, ah, so by "most music game controllers" they meant "only our music game controllers".

Um... Sony has set something up to allow GH1 and GH 2 controllers to be used. It's called a USB port. Get yourself an adapter and they'll work just fine on a PS3. Except with Rock Band of course

and gh2... they said forever when the ps3 came out that there would be USB adapters that would make GH1/2 playable... now supposedly GH1 is totally playable (with pelican adapter), but GH2 is a screwed usb hack that isn't even worth calling a working workaround.
nyko had promised a usb adapter that would make them work, had a fair amount of press behind the adapter, then after a bit announced to the media that they had quit development on it cause it wasn't going to work :(
edit: here's a link to the failed adapter - nice quote in there:
due to a Red Octane rep telling me Guitar Hero would never work on the PS3

Your logic is so full of holes. PS3 owners have been screwed by misleading statements and that's it - bottom line. BTW - if they put your brain on a razor blade it would look like a BB rolling down a 4-lane highway. Now go stick your tounge in a light socket or something.
