View Full Version : Online Band Play Song Choice ... Mix It Up People

My gripe with online play is that everyone chooses the same dozen songs (if I have to hear O.K. Go one more time I'm going to Pete Townsend my guitar). The only high difficulty song that is consistently chosen is Enter Sandman. Let's get some variety people. Try some different stuff ....
DO CHOOSE (good fun and challenge for all parts):
Next to You
Won't Get Fooled Again
Foreplay/Long Time
Highway Star
DON'T CHOOSE:
Green Grass and High Tides (great song, but this song just hurts after seven minutes)
Are You Gonna Be My Girl (again)
Here It Goes Again (again and again)
I single these songs out, not because they are my favorites nor do I think they are bad (I like them all, except one song which will remained unnamed so as to stave off flaming), but because they are either never played or always played. So, please, mix up your song choices if you are an online band leader.

That's why I always choose to have the crowd choose a song for us.

o tell you the truth I don't like playing difficult songs, I like playing fun songs like Welcome Home and I'm So Sick, etc. etc.
When I would play GH3 EVERYONE would pick One, TTFAF, Raining Blood, Knights of Cydonia, Cliffs of Dover, all those outrageously difficult songs.
I was quite happy playing Welcome To The Jungle, Prayer Of The Refugee, not easy bu tnot hard song you know?
You're supposed to play to have fun.
And jeez Green Grass And High Tides and Won't Get Fooled Again are like two weeks long. :o

I agree that I don't want to get the s*** kicked out of me (I despised GH online when I had to play some of those songs); I want to have fun. But, if you play on the right setting these songs are both fun and moderately challenging for everyone. Play the difficulty that is right for you and these songs are a blast (Won't Get Fooled Again on Easy drums is great and not painful at all).

I agree.
If I could add Enter Sandman to that list?
It's a good song but not when I have to play it every new band I join.
