Not sure you can put a Black Flag solo anywhere near this list since Greg Ginn purposefully tried to ugly up the entire idea of a guitar solo in their early days.
But then again, no one expects Guitar World to have any idea what they're talking about.

yeah, i stopped reading before #10 after seeing both this and "summertime blues".

rock critics have nothing to offer me but a reminder of how lame the outside world can be.

Rule no.1

Never trust a critic

I saw Peter Frampton and Zero on there and laughed

Zero's solo kicked... ass

This list is just... wrong. I mean, Every Rose Has it's Thorn, but not Don't Fear the Reaper? What?

I like how the writer references all of these random bootlegs. Of course a musician is going to screw up every once in a while. You can't expect them to play great every night.

Epic and Do You Feel Like We Do on this list?!

This critic must listen to some really sh**ty solo's then.

I strongly disagree with the inclusion of "2x4" on this list.

That said, I strongly disagree with any list of this sort. Guitar solos should not be ranked based on the perceived technical skill it took to play them.

Summertime Blues is an awesome solo! The only solos I would really call bad are the ones that essentially bring the song to a screeching halt for the purpose of showing off. Like virtually every solo in the Glam Metal genre. Incidentally, I think the greatest solo ever is the outro to Psycho Killer.

I checked the entire list.

The entire article is an exercise in bad taste.

As someone who rarely plays solo, and memorizes them even less, I've learned the solo for Two Princes (in which, they don't complain about the solo at all. They complain about the song) which is trickier than people would think. The first half of it is easy, but then the second half has some unusual timing.

I consider the solo for All You Need Is Love to be perfectly appropriate for the song.

He complains about a never-released Beatles outtake?

And the complaints get remarkably personal-

Duffy deserves to be sodomized by the entire Hells Angels for the disgrace he made of this biker anthem.

So... guitarworld is advocating sexual violence as retribution for "musical crimes?"

14. Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do

I won't follow that link but I'll go have a shi* right away in honor to those ignorants.

I bet they think the solo from "The Cover of Rolling Stone" by Dr. Hook is the all-time great solo...jerks.

I had something long typed out, but this site logged me out, and I don't feel like redoing it... so I'll just say, this is a terrible list.
