View Full Version : No Down-Strum.. Now No Strum?

I picked up Rock Band on the 21st and for the past few days I've noticed that my RB strat has been acting up. Yesterday the down-strum began fading in and out, not too frequently, but enough to notice.

At first I thought it was because of poor playing and getting used to the strat after playing the GHIII Les Paul, but today things definately turned for the worst. First the down-strum cut out, for a few moments at a time. I just sat it down for a while, or gave it a few shakes and got back to playing just fine. Then it eventually just cut out entirely.

Then I switched to only up-strumming, which worked for a while. I decided to stop and check on my down-strum in practice mode. Set up In Bloom on expert, and I wasn't able to strum a single note, neither up nor down.

Just to make sure something wasn't messed up with the USB ports, just for good measure, I reset the xbox, picked up the strat, and never made it out of the menus.

I could RMA it, like I probably should, but I'd rather fix it myself. Now, according to a few posts I've looked through, down-strumming failure seems to be attributed to the microswitch non-sense, but what about up-strumming?

What is the likelyhood that this is that problem? And what is the likelyhood of me being able to fix it with these instructions?

Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: After messing around with the guitar, and tilting it at very specific angles, I am able to get it to play a few notes, but with constant readjusting it continues to fail to register up or down strums.

that same problem happened with my guitar too, just follow the warranty that EA give you. they will send you a new guitar free of charge as long as you send them the faulty one within 28 days, and you get your guitar shipped in 2 days from ea!!
