I am from Singapore, and I have an Asian set of PS3 with me.

The thing is, my Rock Band 2 is prolly imported from US - don't ask me, I got it as new from a game store in my town.

Well, as buying a new game, comes its benefits - download-able content.

What freaks me out is that I wasn't able to get my free 20 songs, needless to say, not even thinking of being able to go to the music store.

Fret not, I am downloading the 20 songs as I speak, the reason why HMX wouldn't answer WTF is 8002311A - it means that its of the wrong region.

So instead of signing up at PSN properly, here are the steps to encounter this problem.

(Such a lengthy essay as I am pissed because I have to find this out myself and not from product support.)
----------------------------------------------------------
Steps for skipping 8002311A:
(Assuming you have already registered your RB2 with the codes)
1) Go and create an email account at whereever, my choice is hotmail because its the easiest and little questions to fill in.

2) Update your current PSN to this new email.

3) Create a new user.

4) Create a new PSN account.

*Points to note here:*
Set your country to United States. Well I set my address to my save house on GTAIV :D but the country has to be United States.

The email should be the same one as the email you have used to register your copy of RB2.

5) Optional : Your internet settings might need to reconfig again, but should test less than a minute to do it.

6) Well go to PSN, sign in (as you are able to connect to Internet) then click Redeem Code.

7) Enter those magic code numbers and say abradecabra.

8) The file is 536MB big...

9) Log out to your original account, and voila its there when you start your game!

-------------------------------------------------------

Steps for entering Music Store :
Assuming you have thought its parental control and got them all switched off...
1) Follow Steps 1 to 5 as of above.

2) Have a US version PSN Card ($20/$50 USD)

3) Rest is self explanatory.

Thank you!

Ray.
Screw poor product support.

PS: Hope this works for those in Canada. (I <3 Blame Canada - South Park)

another point to note for those of us outside USA: seems we are forced to choose a state and this determines the tax rate, so dont choose one with sales tax!

Anyone still around this thread ?

I did all of the above so I can finally connect to the music store.

Finally, with my new PSN account in US, I can successfully connect to the Music Store (HURRAY !!!!!!) but problem : when I enter my billing info (aka credit card) I can't change the country !!!

What do I do :-(

cheersdude, I'm facing the same problem. It's highly annoying that their customer service sucks so hard.
