Now, this Genre has covered quite a bit of ground, and it's covered quite the vast amount of kinds of music. But honestly, where's the Ska?

I would kill, I mean KILL to see "Keasbey Nights" as downloadable content, preferably the "Streetlight Manifesto" version, it's so much cleaner than the "Catch 22" version. I know that Ska isn't all that popular, but bands like "Streetlight Manifesto" and "Big D and the Kids Table" just have a different kind of energy than other bands, and it's something that hasn't been touched on. :D

Why not have some popular Ska for the game HMX?
The Specials, Reel Big Fish, Madness etc. are all bloody big bands and would be downloaded a lot.

I love Ska, but I don't think it would work well for a game. A lot of ska is very repetative throughout the song. Especially in the guitar area.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Just a bunch of upbeats. But I would love to see some Sublime, Mad Caddies, Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto...

And yes, Rx Bandits!

Oh man, we DEFINITELY need some ska in this game.

Reel Big Fish
Aquabats (Travis Barker from Blink 182 used to drum for them)
Mighty Mighty Boss Tones
Squirrel Nut Zippers
Save Ferris
Pietasters
Pilfers
MXPX
Less Than Jake

So many amazingly badass tracks available!! Please Harmonix, give us a ska pack!!

How the hell are Squirrel Nut Zippers ska? Or Big Bad Voodoo Daddy?! That's rockabilly / swing all the way, which is so not ska.

On the ska note though, RBF, Goldfinger, Bosstones, Big D & The Kid's Table, The Specials, The English Beat all would be fun to play. I totally disagree that ska is repetitive. Some songs are sure, but there are exceptions and the genre has such a different beat to it, people would find it challenging.

They need to create a whole new game called "Ska Band!" The only problem with most ska music is that there's too many instruments that don't come with the game.

Well, I don't think ska is big enough to warrant its own game (currently), but I don't see the problem with not playing the horns. We have crazy keyboards in songs Foreplay/Long Time and Won't Get Fooled Again where that's really the only thing happening. With ska, you tend to at least have the normal rock instruments keeping the background rhythm.

Not to mention a lot of the ska bands mentioned have done songs where the horns take a backseat to the common rock instruments.

I think yes to all Reel Big Fish ever and most Aquabats and Streetlight Manifesto, and I'd think a good number of Big D and the Kids Table, Goldfinger, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones would be nice.

Ones I'm surprised no one has mentioned here: Five Iron Frenzy, Suburban Legends. Come on guys.

However: No Doubt and Sublime were probably the most popular ska bands nationwise/mainstream back in the nineties, so I would expect to see them most.

Those were entirely different times, ladies and gentlemen.

Wouldn't they not use "Date Rape" because of the content of the lyrics? Not that is not a cool song.

Skeletones would be kind of cool. Lyrics are weird as hell though.

Pietasters would be nice too. One of my fave ska bands from back in the day.

Suicide Machines are more Skacore. But I love their bass notes.
