Rock Band/GH3 influence on the radio.

On my 10 minute ride home today from working, first thing on the radio was Bulls on Parade, then (first time I've ever heard it on the radio) was Wave of Mutilation.
I noticed this a bit after each game release. People must request these more or maybe the DJs are Gamers as well. You guys getting the same treatment I'm sure.

I thought the radio station I listen to was doing the same thing, and one afternoon after they played some Priestess the two hosts started talking about GH3 (pre-launch) heh.

Whenever new Rock Band tracks were announced I could hear a couple of the songs every night on the overnight show hehe.

Edit: I heard Green Grass and High Tides and Wave of Mutilation back to back, for example.

Yeah this stuff happened with GH1 and 2 and 3 but I havent noticed it with RB yet

The radio never played "Killer queen" before

The radio never played "Heart shaped box" before either

The radio never played "Bulls on parade" before

Some others probably too but I can't think of them right now but I've totally noticed the same things

I heard like 4 or 5 GH3 songs in a row after the game came out. They had probably been on the radio before I just hadnt noticed them before I played GH.

Similarly, my local classic rock stations started playing YYZ in their normal rotations when GH2 came out - and before that I don't ever remember them playing the song on air if it wasn't a Rush-themed weekend.

Some of the other songs seemed to pop up more often for sure too.

My brother and I also remarked at the time that the radio producers had clearly been playing the game.

I remember hearing Slow Ride, Schools Out, Sunshine of your love, and Mississippi Queen all in a row one night on a classic rock station. Those are all often played on radio, but I just thought it was funny they were all in a row after GH3 was released.

To be fair, when the hell isn't Slow Ride played on radio stations?

It's also possible that you just never noticed these songs being played until you were listening for them because they are in the games.

maybe it's just cause i'm a little older, but almost everything has been in heavy rotation at one time or another on rock/classic themed stations.
only things mentioned I hadn't heard played B4 would be GGHT and wave of mutilation.

now, as for them becoming requested more often......i'm sure that has happened.
