I have had RB from Launch and two days ago the pedal snapped in two during the Who song. IF this pedal cant sustain more than a week (14 hours aprox total) of normal drumming (Not "stomping" before everyone tries to point that out, it is a pedal you step on after all) then this is a very dissapointing flaw in an otherwise great game. Way to do your product testing Harmonix or maybe its EA to blame, they seem to be known for being cheap....good thing I have a replacement plan but what about the new one and how long will this one last once more regular drumming takes place????

I'm not a great drummer, but i'm not your average smash **** till it's destroyed rock drummer.....
My pedal snapped in two after a week... This is so uncool it's not even funny.
All I hear these days is that the guitars are breaking left and right, and that the kick pedals are breaking....
Sigh... I was really looking forward to this game for a LONG time.... What a waste.

it would be different if I was abusing it but I was playing on Normal mode.....its just not durable enough....should have made it out of metal or at least a solid piece of plastic in stead of that waffle crap that it is currently made out of.....poor design.....

Mine snapped in 2 as well. I had to talk on the phone to a foreigner for about half an hour before I could get my replacent shipped. I hope the second generation pedals are a bit more durable. I might screw a metal plate onto mine to ensure that it doesn't break this time around

Oh no.. a foreigner! RUNNN TOOO THE HILLLLLLS, RUNNN FOOOOR YOUR LIIIIIFE.
I've put in, no exaggeration, 38 hours since Tuesday, most of it with a 4 piece group and all the hardware it still great.
That said, I can see some of the beat charts for some of the higher difficulty songs in Hard and Expert may prove problematic... I'm contemplating putting a couple metal braces on the pedal, just in case. Though as I am within the warranty window and I have a second bundle I may just wait until the warranty comes up... course I suppose it's possible the pedal design changed during the manufacturing process with the first releases. The real metal pedal mod I've seen looks like an idea too if it the pedal proves faulty.

Where are ya'll putting your feet? The pedal does bend if you put the balls of your feet in the middle. If you put your foot flat on the pedal with the balls of your feet on the orange line, it doesn't bend at all.

Okay now, it is true it broke in the middle of Run to the Hills, but a quick examination reveals the weakness about 1 inch from the hinge. You can see the injection molding hole. The other problem is the preload caused by the extra heavy spring. We are playing with the thing taped and still operational. But hey, the game is still great.

The ball of my foot is in the upper middle of the pedal. I can't put my foot flat from the hell to the toe on the pedal - i've drummed for 15 years and got out of that habit years and years ago. I actually don't know any experienced drummer who does the pedal flat footed.
Mine snapped too, btw. EA is sending a new one out. I'll be reinforcing it this time. Probably just cobble together a new top for it from an old pedal I've got sitting around. No plastic for me :)

Mine just went tonight also. Was playing through "Learn to Fly" on Hard when I heard a snap when I was supposed to hear a bass drum. Cheap plastic piece of junk. Harmonix really needs to get a redesign on some of these instruments. Flimsy strummers(mine is still holding strong!), weak drum pedals, DOA mics...what happened to the company that gave me an SG controller that lasted for a year and a half?

Haven't opened mine (waiting for Christmas), did you see a flow line at the hole were it broke? All molded parts will have a weld line were the 2 fronts meet and it will always be a week area> Gate placement is critical to determin weld orientation but unless you mold the part and machine the hole there is no way around it. FYI machining the hole can sometimes double the cost o f manufactuing due to fixture needs and cycle time.
as for the remark about making it out of solid plastic rather than rib renforcment. Thick solid moldings tend to sink, have void, and warp. You would not want any of those. Ribbing can strengthen item will above a solid molded parts flex modulas. So don't knock the ribbing. Also a thick piece would use 4 times the amount of material, and increase the cyle by a factor of 5. Assuming the pedel is ABS at $3/lbs. and using a 600 ton press at $80/hour for a 4 cavity mold, Ribbing saved you a good chunk of change. You probably would have raised the drums to $120 by themselves.

Me too I been playing for only five days since the launch day and it just broke in two. What a joke I bought toys from the dollar store for my kids that lasted more than a week. Is this what our American dollar is buying now a days just a bunch of recycled plastic low craftsmanship. Its so light i even had to hose clamp it to the base of the drum set so when things get going fast it doesnt flip off out of the way.
