Hey guys, im 12 years old and im looking for a rock band 2 drum competition. All the places are always 21 and older :( so i cant really do anything. I'm good at drums, expert platinum, and am ranked in the top ten 4 a lot of songs. But, theres never any events for younger kids :(

Hey long as you can make an effort it's all that matters (we get drunken first timers at alot of our gigs so it's no big deal). We even have people get 0% on guitar or bass on easy, but its fine since we do no fail. Though if under 21 just come by to Cinebarre next week in Thornton since all ages welcome. If not then I know Loveland is going to hold some kinda tournie on the 17th for all skills (casual or hardcore).

If you're over 21, we do Rock Band at Pitchers Sports Bar & Grill on Sunday nights at 8:30pm. Doesn't matter how good you are, we have players of all levels!

why dont you set up one of your own? you could probably get a lot of kids-teens involved. pass it around to your friends, etc. even if you had to hold it at somebody (with very awesome parents)'s house or basement. the prize could be nothing but 'winner', but once word gets around and more and more get involved you could move on to possibly discussing the possibility with your 'rents of renting a place out that charges a small fee - something like a party hall, with the adults (sucks being 12 i remember) banned to another room and you and 50 of your friends having a blast.

sh*t id do that if i were still 12 lol

Well, the reason behind tool not being in RB isn't completely because they're in a GH game, an artist owns the rights to their music, not the game producers that they give permission to use their music. It's because for whatever reason Tool HATES Harmonix, look at Foo Fighter's they're in both games, look at Modest Mouse, Metallica, System of a Down, the point is, people think that because one game has music the other game can't "take" that music, neither game owns the music, the artist does. And it's the artist's decision if they want their music in the game.

Short Version: A music artist can give rights to his music to every game publisher in the world, or they can give it to none, it's their choice.

Since when has Tool said anything about hating Harmonix? I Figure the reason they jumped on the Guitar Hero bandwagon was because ass load of money and they got their own stage setup. Only music artist I know who have taken sides in the "battle of plastic instruments" is Dave Mustaine of Megadeth (who says Rock Band is basically future of music distribution off his website) and Axl Rose (whom in an interview blasted Activision for using Welcome to the Jungle without his permission).

IIRC, I think it's more of the MTV side of things that Tool isn't fond of.

And you don't count Chad Kroeger as a musician? Neither do I.

Considering they're always on MTV to advertise new album or put up new music video, kinda doubt that. Besides that, it's not the artist alone that figures out what or where the music goes, since the masters of them can belong to someone else and do as they please (like the case of Michael Jackson and The Beatles). Which is one of the reasons I'm going to assume Guitar Hero got Bruce Springsteen since I'm going to assume it's record wing is same one Activision is under, since Harmonix has Lil Stevie working for them...

Chad Kroeger I consider more "poodle man" then anything else.

Right, a lot of the time it's not up to the artists. Gotta love record companies.

You think being twelve is bad, I'm 19. I can vote for president, sign up for the military, smoke a stick full of poisons, and risk my money on the outcome of a fancy machine full of numbered balls, but I can't be go into these buildings because of a kind of liquid I'm not even interested in consuming.

you say that now but just wait 2 more years :P

on the other hand i never had to wait i started drinking when i was 16 and pretty much was drunk everynight for the next 7 years till i got married. Something about a wife(now ex-wife) just drags all the fun out of it.

My family has a tendency towards alcoholism, so I don't intend to ever drink. I'm just not interested.
