My response to the stupid thread titled "HMX Please patch in rhythm"

Harmonix, I am requesting that you please patch the following things to make your guitar games better.


1) Please patch the guitar so I don't have to strum each of the 6 strings on the guitar individually, as that is very complicated for a lot of people, and playing with a single strum bar would be more fun for a lot of people.


2) Please patch the guitar so I don't have to hold down those sharp strings on the neck of the guitar, as they cut into my fingers and make it hurt a lot. It would be more fun if there were say 5 or 6 buttons to hit.


3) Also please patch the guitar so there aren't so many frets and notes to hit on the neck of the guitar. I want something more fun and easy to play, that makes it feel like I'm playing a guitar, but more fun and simple for all of us to enjoy.





Oh wait, you already did that because this isn't a real freakin guitar! My bad for being so dumb that I didn't undertstand this isn't a real guitar, and thus everything wouldn't be completely realistic and exactly like it was in real life.


Of course my only complaint I've ever logged on these forums about the drums was regarding the requirement that even people playing the drums on the EASY SETTING use the kick pedal, and I was met with a wall of morons acting like that wouldn't be "realistic". You're playing with plastic instruments you fools! Does that seem realistic?!? Use some common sense here! This is a videogame.

You know your response could've just gone in that thread? If they left the bass pedal out of easy, and then put it in medium, you'd have been complaining that there was too much of a leap in difficulty between easy and medium.

Wrong. Because by that time people would have a solid foundation of how to hit the drums and keep time in the songs. Then the kick pedal would just be the next step in the learning process. As it is now you're just thrown into it all without any warmup of any kind.



Listen, I want to make this clear. I can now play through all of the songs on easy without any problems. I can even play a few songs on hard without a problem, so this isn't about me not being able to do this at all. It's purely my opinion of how this game could have been made better. I am just saddened that I'll never get my friends are family to really try the drums on this game, because each time I have they're completely thrown off by having to use the kick pedal.



Also. to those of you who said "that thread was a joke", it wasn't a joke in the sense that the creator of that thread thinks that people complaining about the drums being too hard are whiners and what not. My point was that his arguments that "using the kick pedal is realistic" are incredibly short sighted as this entire franchise spawed from the concept that anyone can be a guitar hero with the way they designed that game.
