Just a simple request, and its probably been posted before.
Please make it so that if someone quits during a match, their opponent gets a win.
I have no idea what my leaderboard ranking is for the expert score duel, but I had at least 15 people quit on me last night in varying parts of the song. Really sucks when you spend 2-7 minutes (depending on song) just to have someone quit at the end b/c they are going to lose. That should count as a forfeit and I should recieve the win. Would really help out with the frustration of losing so many damn points to people leaving on you.
*shrug* Just a thought.

It's really kinda sad you even have to make such a request on this forum. Hasn't this been a feature of ranked online games for years now? If someone quits that should automatically lose.

Yeah, I really have to wonder how this was missed. Don't get me wrong, the game is quite enjoyable, but this is one area that can make you frustrated really quickly.

Developers miss this All The Time.
I've played games (notably Capcom vs. SNK 2) where someone disconnecting means BOTH PLAYERS take the loss. That's just hideous, it punishes both the coward and the victor.
Frankly, I got tired of the whole ranked play thing years ago. Add a number to your online gaming and it brings out the absolute worst in people. Nowadays I stick to unranked public competition where if I get squished, eh, big deal. Nothing's on the line. It makes the people a whole lot nicer to deal with.

Yeah, I'm debating not doing the ranked play anymore as I get pretty tired of wasting my time to have people quit. I'll have to see what I'm ranked first though. If I'm at 2000 or something, it's not worth the hassle. haha.. If I make the top 10, that's a different story. lol
In all seriousness though, I have found the un ranked play to be much more enjoyable. People actually use their mics!! :D

I have yet to go into score duels or tug of wars, but this problem also plagues band quickplay...we're all jamming along and someone quits...instead of the game recognizing the player quit, it makes him fail out, which in turn makes all of us fail. It's REAAAAAAALLY annoying and happens constantly. So much so that I'm even starting to leave people negative feedback for it, and I never mess with feedback.

Yup, I started doing the "Avoid Player" feedback yesterday. Was convenient that one of the options as to "Why?" is "Quit game early."
What I'm confused about though is if it leaves feedback others can see or if it simply is a filter so that you don't play with that person any longer. *shrug*

I will happily quit a game with someone if i notice they've beat the game on expert or hard and they're playing me in the easy or medium tier.

That's understandable though as they should not be playing at Medium. But this is in expert face-off against other expert players.

I don't even play online and I think it needs to be addressed. Hopefully it should be an easy fix since it is soething they should be able to tweak on the server side.

Yeah, they do though and they 100% the songs on easy/medium and then they send you voice messages taunting you.

It actually does count as a win for you in the rankings and a loss for the quitter. This isn't explicit but it does count. It does not count towards the achievement.

Err.. which achievement?
Also, any way you could make it show up? As it stands, it sure looks like my points didn't go up at all and I had about 4 quitters in a row at one point last night.

I noticed this too. I "won" several games when people quit, but I didn't get credit for that. I had to win about 8 in a row (counting the times people quit out early) to get the 5 In A Row Achievement.
I don't care too much about Achievements, but it demonstrated the problem.
Also, how do you check your wins and losses? I haven't found that option.

While the game shouldn't tolerate quitting behavior in this way, wouldn't it make it easy to have a friend help you get the achievement? Actually, nix that. It would be just as easy for your friend to "throw" 5 songs in a row versus you to get you the achievement.
Oversight, plain, simple?

Same behavior I noticed with the quitters which is why the comment from the HMX guy comfused me a bit.
As to W-L, I haven't found that either. Hell, I don't know what my current point total is, nor do I even know how it computes. LOL

Sean,
I see you are answering some people's questions today, but the real question is if HMX is making a patch for the PS3 so that GH3 and 1 & 2 work with Rock Band for the PS3. I would really appreciate if you can answer that.
Thanks,
Al

Part of the thing i pointed out in my post (and I didn't use search because origionally it was going to be more of a 'solution' then it downgraded to complaining) was that the whole system of ranked battles needes to be redone.
My proposed solution- forced difficulty depending on your skill. You win a ton, you move up. You lose a ton, you move down. Good players wouldn't want to lose because it would hurt their rank.
My issue is that I can't keep combos... I can beat expert songs, but fast rythm parts really hurt me. So I play on hard, because if I can't keep a combo, on expert, there's NO WAY I'm ready for that online. I was playing against guys who were FCing everything on Hard, so I went to medium, same thing... easy for fun, same thing. No matter what skill you do, anyone winning /should/ be playing on expert. The whole system is broken
