i see they are selling it for 16.99 and free shipping on amazon now...i am tempted to get it even though i have rb2(the best) and ghwt(pretty good) because it is so cheap...i know there is no singer in it but im considering it for the price...has anyone played it who could adviseme if i should just save my money or if it has $17 worth of entertainment for me

That game shant be spoken of!
There's a reason it's piss cheap too.
EDIT: All reviews say it suck btw.

Bad. Might be worth it for the price. I just hope you don't value your hearing... the cover of Won't Get Fooled Again brought up urges to kill something cute and furry.

We could tell you how bad it is, or you could experience the pain and anguish yourself.
Go ahead. It'll be a learning experience!

I Youtube'd some videos from the game...and man, that "Top down" view is what really kills it for me. It gave me a headache just watching that...the angled approach is soooo much better.

Here's an unbiased review from me.
Some of the covers are decent, a few are actually pretty good, and although a lot of people complain about the top down thing, you get used to it within the first song.
My final say, for under $20, I believe it is worth it.

Yes, for that price you might as well get it. I enjoyed playing it.

I'd use the 17 bucks on a hammer to hit myself with in the crotch instead. It's less painful.

It's not that bad of a game. Seriously.
It doesn't compare to the whole "experience" that is Rock Band 2, but it's every bit as good as the first Guitar Hero, if not a little bit better with it having the option for improvising your own guitar solos.

Considering GH2's vocals for Laid to Rest, or the utter horridness of the Iron Maiden DLC vocals for Rock Band, the covers in this game don't really bother me that much.

Just because a game is on sale doesnt mean its bad, I just picked up Prince Of Persia for £18 when it should have been £40. However in the case of Rock Revolution it really is bad.

Sure, Rock Revolution isn't that great of a game, but it's probably worth $15-20. Heck, there's a lot of games that I'll bite on when they drop that low (trust me on this one: I bought the execrable Need For Speed ProStreet for PS3 because I found it for $12.99 once!).

At 52 seconds in, the cover drummer does a fill but loses timing and misses the snare after. Instead of correcting in, Konami just charts is as if it never happened...
And the singing is just... wow.

Only works if there's $17 worth of RB DLC that you haven't purchased yet, though ;)

Another Who cover? God I hated "The Seeker" cover in GHIII a lot. The Who is just one of those bands that you don't cover.

Out of pure curiosity, if you're not a vocalist, what 8 or 9 Rock Band DLC songs are a better value than the 41 on Rock Revolution for the same price?
(Of course maybe I'm just weird in wanting more music for my money, and not caring if the note chart is large circles, small circles, or rectangles... it's all plastic guitar to me)

I HAD to see it $17 price point for myself... Looking on Amazon.com here's how it breaks down:
62% of people who looked at it for $17 bought it, but...
15% bought RB2 for $60,
8% bought the original RB for $60
8% bought GH:WT for $60.
Even at $17 bucks, 31% of people spent another $43 for something OTHER than Rock Revolution. I think the answer to the OP's question is in the numbers...
It's THAT bad.

in my opinion its a horrible game, the starpower on there is garbage it takes you half the song to get it and then you use it and its gone in 3 seconds. if i was you i would save the 17 dollars and buy some microsoft points or whatever they use for downloads on ps3

Its horrible.
I rented it and when I played it, it made me dizzy. The charts are really hard to see and confusing. I couldn't do drums due to the placement of the bass pedal.
Do not get it

You seem to be just trying to down the game, because "looked at it"
is extremely vague.
It encompasses:
People who are going to buy it
People getting it pop up in a search result
People Accidently Clicking It
People Comparing Set lists
People browsing the on-sale section
People browsing the Rhythm Game Section
Idiot RB/GH Fanboys looking at it to make fun of it when it really isn't that bad.
People browsing for their children or grand-children.
62% divided by 8 is 7.75, which is comparable to the other percentages.

That's about the stupidest argument ever. So if people bought Fallout 3 and also bought Fable 2, then Fallout 3 sucks? What? How many people bought Gears of War 2 AND Halo 3? Which one of those sucks?

Here's how bad it is: Konami made it. It's a music game. That's almost all you need to know.
But for truth: they did it so they'd have some lame excuse to throw a lawsuit the way of HMX and Neversoft. Just like they did with In The Groove. They rush a ****ty game that few if anyone will like just to give them ammo to try and throw a copyright infrigement lawsuit the way of their superior competitor's game.

How bad is it? My fiancée's game store hasn't sold a single copy. It's being liquidated to 49 bucks on Boxing Day for the bundle, and she still doesn't expect to sell any until they package it with a Guitar Hero or Rock Band disc.

Rock Revolution is SOO bad...
When it sits around the house, it sits AROUND the house!!
Seriously though, maybe you should keep the 17. Hang onto it until Silly Band comes out. Or, if you're intent on getting all the DLC, keep it for 34+ more songs in the future.
Seriously...the cover of Joker and the Thief made me really depressed...

Technical superiority != actual superior product
I'd go into a bit of the economic theory behind the flaw in your argument, but ITG was only a superior product to a small (but rabid) segment of the market. Unfortunately, it pretty well froze everyone else out, and probably would've imploded on its own without Konami's lawsuit. (That aside, Konami then decided that they were better off imitating the mistakes of ITG, and have hurt themselves that much more...)
