We learned that to be a host, a player needs to have a moderately high amount of available bandwidth. I myself have 2/3 T1. Keep in mind these tests consider of four players from different Wiis when making a band.
Test 1: 128k up/down
- Could support another Wii with one or two players, but no more.
Test 2: 512k up/down
- Could support two other Wiis and an additional player on either Wii.
Test 3: 1024k up/down
- Could fully support four individual Wiis or combination of players.
These connections were all LAN, not wireless. These tests we conducted during the early morning of Monday, December 22, 2008. A time with little network interruption. These results may vary, but it is ultimately based on the host's available bandwidth.
Ciao!
