on the UPS Tracking it still says "Billing Information Recieved"... 2 day air my butt

Just calm down. Be patient. Be happy that EA/Harmonix are allowing you to have one sent to you first rather than only forcing you to send your old one back, cause very few companies do that. Patience, my friend, patience.

What is your status on the EA Support site? Mine says "Parts Boxed". UPS won't be updated until they actually receive the package, so until then I would use the EA site to get updates.

yeah same here, i've got the rock band box, drum box and guitar box, and thats it. either way, if you really wanted to return it to the store, just stuff it in the box as best as you can, and say 'here it is! take it back', and they'll pretty much have to (if its best buy at least).

Mine also says billing information received at 2.14 eastern time. So, they just got it a few minutes ago.

Wow. It's monday guys. The holiday JUST ended and there is an army of people who have put in for a new guitar. People need to settle down for god sake. I expect there to be delays, I really doubt they are going to have the number of guitars to ship out to meet the demand of everyone who has had problems.

Ok, I think some of us are just really impatient because we just want to know if the guitar is going to ship. Last week I called them three times, & all three people had no clue what was going on and if I had a Tracking #. Two of them didn't even know the right RMA # and gave me a bad one. They seem to be very, very, stupid over there, and don't even know what is going to happen at all. One guy even told me to trust him that it will be fine, even though he didn't even see me in the computer. Wow, I don't care when it ships, I just want to know if it is. What is the # there again btw/ I can't find the thread where it was again.

The pickup times for your particular workplace aren't necessarily the same for every other place.

UPS generally has three pick ups. Morning (9 - 11, my time) Afternoon (4 - 5 my time), then they pick up at the little drop off stations at 7:00.

It will be interesting to see how the next couple of days play out.

you people need to calm down a little. be patient. If this was an xbox, it would take 3 months to get a new one. ea is probably so overwhelmed right now with returns. You will be lucky if they get them all out today. Who even knows if they have enough spare parts to go around. UPS may also be delayed in updating their shipping info, all these packages coming from ea probably dont even fit on one truck. Just let it be, your part will come. I would expect some type of statement from harmonix soon

these new parts are coming out relatively fast. 4 days isnt enough to redesign a whole new guitar or drum kit and produce it and put it out to the world. You know what that means..... hello more broken hardware!

I have no problem waiting for a newer guitar design or whatever to eliminate the problem the originals have, as long as the 28 days doesn't start until they actually ship my replacement...

The people that think that they will get something better by sending it out to EA are CRAZY, just because thi is a problems that obviously is been found out recently there isn't enough to correct it in new guitars and get them to you so save the hassle.

Go to where you got it and get a new one.

except most retailers won't take it back since it has a big pink sheet of paper in the box saying DO NOT RETURN TO STORE.

If you bought it with extended protection like Best Buy, you can take the entire bundle back, but again, most retailers won't take it back, and none of them will take back JUST the guitar since no guitar-only packages are being sold.

I doubt as well the replacements will be any better, but that's not as important at the moment as getting the replacement in our hands and being able to send the defective one back to get rid of that $100 pending charge.

Exactly. The $100 was a little shocking. Now I just want a replacement, no matter what the condition to free up $100 for xmas gifts

That doesn't make any since because guess what the store will have in stock. More of the same broken hardware. You'd at least be more likely to get a working instrument if you sent in for replacement. Who's to say EA didn't know about the faulty hardware which means they would have had time to develop new instruments. Why else would there be the random pink piece of paper explaining the warranty in the box?

You realize they didn't produce, package, and distribute the game on the 19th, right? ;) My guitar was made and packaged beginning of October. That's plenty of time to revise hardware.

Saturday. I think they are loading the most recent returns into the trucks (semis? ;) ) first, instead of putting them in a queue (First in, first out).

My drums have be DOA since I bought Rock Band on tues. night. I would return it to the store where I bought it (toys r us), but THEY ARE ALL SOLD OUT!! I even have the extended warranty, but what good is it if they don't have any to replace it with yet??

According to the Tech Rep. I just got off of the phone, with he said, that they had gone through on Wednesday, and that I should be getting mine tonight, or tommorow morning at the latest. He said he was unsure as to why the UPS site had not updated..... He told me to call back tommorow evening if I had not gotten mine by tommorow morning.....

Yeah, they screwed all of us who did it early because I haven't gotten any info and I sent my request in Thurs.

Thanks a lot EA. I mean hell, Hyundai sells pieces of crap everyday but at least they help out their customers when the things break and don't tell them to wait for a package that remains at "Billing Information received" and a confirmation e-mail that they never get.

Don't worry, after a whole business day since the "break", still no confirmation e-mail or status change. This game really would be great if the peripherals weren't such junk, or at least if they fixed them. It would be nice to know that I was at least waiting all this time for a guitar that wasn't going to break again.

I requested a drum replacement on Friday over the phone, and a guitar replacement on Saturday through the website. Both are now showing in UPS's system as "in transit" and have estimated delivery dates of Wednesday (they were shipped Monday by 2 day air). I have not received a confirmation e-mail for either one.

Honestly, release hardware breaks. Part of being an early adopter means accepting the increased chance of hardware failure.

You may want to try contacting technical support and check on your request. I placed an order around midnight yesterday, and it was confirmed as shipped just this morning, 11/27/2007 09:25 AM.

Well it seems everyone who ordered before the holiday is having this problem. I did call them on Friday just to verify that they got my order and they did, so now I'm just waiting...

I'd try giving them another call and asking about the details of your RMA. And make sure you do it early in the day; I tried giving them a call last night to confirm my replacement request and get my UPS tracking number, and I had to wrestle with the phone lines and then the representative for good hour, coming out of it with only the knowledge that they have charged my card.

Gave up last night and then called around noon this afternoon, and it literally took less than three minutes.

I put my request in late the night of 11/20 and UPS site has said only "Billing Information Received" ever since.

Finally called EA Support today and he asked for my RMA number and looked it up. Then told me that my guitar was still sitting in the warehouse and would be shipped out "in the next couple days" with the express option. He apologized, when I pointed out how long it has been, despite me choosing the "express" option and said they are "working around the clock" and that everything would be shipped out this week.

So, for whatever that's worth, I just thought I'd pass on what he told me.

I can only hope that the delay in them shipping my replacement guitar means I will actually get one of the nice redesigned ones that's supposed to work properly.

@Ardrikk, honestly that is the best news I have heard so far. I would rather have them say "Im sorry we are behind and working on it" then say UPS webpage is bad and the stuff has been shipped 2day air, but you might get it in 4-6 days.

So far so good....The strum bar feels similar to the old guitar, but seems to have more spring to it, and rights itself back to dead center. No missed or double strums on the down stroke so far. One minor gripe however: The fret buttons near the headstock are a lot noiser than the ones before. Oh well, they work and I'll count my blessing at this point. On a different note, I also have replacement drums enroute, but the packing slip that came with my newest guitar was for the drum set. Strange!
