Out of all the rock genres, this seems to be brought up least. New Wave originally came in the 80s, it came from punk rock, but was different. It's kind of hard to explain, but a popular example would be The Police. A lot of the new wave artists were different though. Since punk rock is in it would be nice to include some New Wave songs. Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s seems to lack many. There were many which were heavy on the traditional instruments. Heres the wikipedia definition on it.

Ummmm, The Police are classic rock. They began in 1979. They ended in 1984. They were unique because about most of their songs didn't have rhyming lines.

look, whether they have good songs or not, it doesn't matter for this game. it's all about instrumentals, which the new wave genre typically lacks.

Most of the Guitar hero songs had singing. And there is a mic now so it would be good. Punk Rock also lacks instrumentals, but they have a Ramones song, and probably will have a few other punk songs.

The police could be considered New Wave. They also kind of mixed Raggae and Punk. Classic Rock is just a radio format for the style of rock in the 60s-80s that was popular. It includes different genres.

I'm not asking for the whole game to be New Wave, just for a few songs to be in.

again, it doesn't matter if theres good singing. you have to have something good in at least 3/4 of the parts to have it in.

New Wave......hmmm.....alot of that might be covered in "Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's" But I'd love to see some late 70's New Wave in there. Elvis Costello in his "Elvis Costello and the Attractions" period are a nice hot new wave group.

Yes that would be good. Rocks the 80s doesn't really have much New Wave I believe. It has I ran and Only A Lad but I think that's it.

Who are they? I've never heard of them, and couldn't find them when I searched for them.

Gang Of Four, Au Pairs, Magazine... There's some great post-punk out there. But I'm not sure it would ever make a game like this.

Agreed. Magazine's "Shot By Both Sides" would be pretty cool.
Not sure there's a place for Gang of Four tho.. not many folks would be into something like "Love Like Anthrax" lol
