Before I start, I would just like to inform each user that this thread is not for bias to either game or company. If you wish to do that, do it in another thread.

Now then, that's out of the way. I have a rock band 2 guitar, and am geting another one (Getting a rb2 bundle for christmas because it was the only way to get a rock band 2 wireless drum kit). These guitars are great, but the strum bar can make songs with constant fast strumming like let There Be Rock and Creep hard. I know the strum bars on GHWT's guitar are helpful for keeping pace, so I am curious on opinions. Is it worth the purchase?

Just a side note: I have gh 2 & 3 guitars. The gh2 one has a horrible ghost strum issue, and the gh3 detachable neck ruined it (Does the WT guitars neck cause this also?). For these reasons,I will not buy either of these again, so please do not suggest them.

I've been wondering if the WT guitars had that dumbass detachable neck too. It ruined my GH3 guitar and if it does I will be pissed cuz stupid me never asked before buying it for Christmas

The gh2 one has a horrible ghost strum issue.

Do you mean the X-Plorer? If so, it must be your guitar. It is all I have ever used and have never had an issue with "ghost strums".

Though, after a solid year and who knows how many thousand songs played, my whammy bar has become loose. Now I need a new X-plorer because the Whammy is in the best spot for me out of any of the guitars I have tried.

I can't stand the RB1 guitar. I do not like the strum bar at all. Had I learned on that style, I would probably like it fine though.

The GHWT guitar is my second favorite but the whammy bar is a little beyond my reach with my pinky and ring finger (like I do with the x-plorer). If the whammy bar were positioned better, the GHWT one would be my favorite by far (not a fan of the touch pad though).

I play the RB series 90% of my music game play, so it isn't that I like the GH games better...but just the guitars.

They improved the neck joint on the new guitar-its a better plug that won't break. Thats not the issue with the ghwt guitar however , if you read on gamespot.com they claim their strumbar stopped working after only a few days. I honestly can't tell you from experience, I bought the GHWT bundle for PS3 and only took the drums out to connect to my electronic kit.The other stuff including the game is still in the box. lol
I don't like the GH guitar buttons, I way prefer the RB ones. I have had to fix the spring on the Harmonix whammy bar though, just used a spring from a pen.

I would suggest getting the GHWT guitar if you were happy with the strumbar on the GH2/3 guitars. Or better yet try it out for yourself if one of your local game stores has a kiosk set up for GHWT.

yes, it has a detachable neck, but it is a plug, not the 6-pins. the guitar is amazing, but only if you get a good one, the odd one is horrible(double strum and/or not strumming at all) but i am on my 3rd and final one(hopefully)

just get a gamestop(or Eb) warranty and its will do wonders!!!

I love the WT guitar. Whammy bar is longer, so I can keep it by the strum bar for those instances to get star power. Strum Bar is also longer, so I get a better grip; made me better at chugging. Touch strip is a nice feature, but I've had it interfere with solos. (Game reads extra strums) Looks nice too; the base of the guitar is curved, and so is the removable cover. (Wii)

I don't think Rock band is compatible with the strip though.

Also, I have never had a problem with detachable necks. They stay on great, never misread anything.

Yes, the World Tour guitar is definitely worth getting. Helped me improve a TON of scores (and it does help with Let There Be Rock- trust me).

It (the strum bar) feels weird (different from GH3's Les Paul), but with time you'll get used to the feel.

Well now that I've gone through two Rock Band 1 strats, whammy bar broken on both, strum bar completely mushy on other, I'm using the GHWT guitar exclusively, I can honestly say I notive no difference in my playing but thats just me being a bassist probably, so long as I can strum green a hundred times I'm fine.

Thanks for the tips guys. Lucky me I'm getting this guitar at Gamestop (especially after hearing fo the strumbar. It's like Rock Band 1's guitar all over again). I don't know how much it'll help with fast songs (gs'ed Creep & let There Be Rock with strat... not to show off or anything), but it'll be nice to have the option just in case.

I love GHWT. It's a great game, with a stellar soundtrack and much improved gameplay.

The guitar, on the other hand, is very bad. The strum bar has this very awful... mushy... feel. It's noisy and feels very awkward. The frets are similar to the les paul, which I have never been a fan of. The start button is also very small, making it difficult to pause mid song.

But, the grand finale... the thing broke after two weeks of play. Randomly. I was playing a song, and noticed I was missing easy notes. I soon realized that my red button would not activate. I have tried everything to fix it, and still nothing has worked.

I personally love the Strat, and that is what I am currently using. I would replace my GH guitar, but they make me pay for shipping. No thanks...
