for albums the format is (year) band - genre - album name - # of tracks
Personally I would LOVE to see
(1993) Life of Agony - hard rock - River Runs Red - 10 (13 - 3 non-music tracks)
They are absolutely amazing and I am constantly impressed by the inventiveness of thier drum lines and the vocal ability of thier singer esspecially for a band of this genre, thier songs are far removed from being linear and move from fast paced thrashes to slow melodic tunes. This is far from my favorite album or even my favorite type of music, out of all the music I listen to this is the one I would want to see most in rock band because I think it would be by far the most fun to play. No repetitive drum lines, interesting bass lines, changes in tempo, and amazing singing, if I walked into a room of people playing this on rock band I would not be able to leave.
(2001) oysterhead - jam - The Grand Pecking Order - 13
For those of you who don't know oysterhead is comprised of Trey Anastacio (the guitarist of phish) Les Claypool (the bassist of primus) and Stewart Copeland (the drummer of the police), so there is no doubt in my mind of the capability of these musicians. On top of that thier songs don't all sound alike because there are three musicians with exceedingly different musical backgrounds each putting thier spin on different songs, so some songs are in the vein of primus, while others are more akin to phish. And for those of you at harmonix this would be popular because all the police, primus, and phish fans would all want it because of it's super group nature. I know for me personally rock band will not be complete until I can sing as les claypool, but until this happens I'll just have to be content with the grateful dead set coming out which I can not wait for.
so what else do you guys want? what other smaller bands are you dying to play as?
