Playing in a full band can be more fun sometimes, not for scores, but just for the feeling of playing with and hearing four instruments. However, playing with just one other can also be fun because you will have more chance of having common DLC. The more people, the less chance of having songs you want to play.

Either way, I enjoy playing with anyone online that plays for the love of the music. Seeing that Band High gold seal up top is neat, but certainly not a goal I set out to do each time I play

Really fun set last night Daddio54. I think we got gold on all 4 songs. It's true about playing with someone or in a FB. It's always nice to see how someone else plays and see the gold after a really great song. Shows how much they enjoy playing as well.

Hello how does this work? Are there groups of people that go online at certain times to play? Do you have to be on a guest list or is it just radom? I have gone in and waited for players...i must be doin something wrong? HELP!!

We exchange Wii friend codes on this thread. Once you post your code here, other OMB players will add you to their friend list. If you add their friend code to your list, we will be able play with each other instead of relying on a random player search. Since OMB players are jammin for fun, you won't get the attitude that you see with some random players. Basically you are setting up a guest list of players with whom you can play RB3. Be sure to post your Wii friend code on this thread to get things started.

Oh yeah. I just realized it may help to tell you where to find your Wii friend code. You can find your friend code by clicking on the "envelope" in the lower right corner of the main Wii menu. After that, click on the "mail" icon on the lower left. You should then be able to click on your address book. When you do that, the game should show your 16 digit console Wii code. Post that on this thread so that people can add you to their friend list.

To add another player's friend code: When you get to your address book, click on "register" then "Wii". Follow the prompts after that. Just make sure that the name you assign to the wii code will remind you of the player it belongs to. That is what will show up in the RB3 friend list when your playing. Once other players add your friend code to their machine, you will be able to see each other on RB3.

To invite a player, start up RB3. Hit the "+" button and click "play online". When that comes up, click on "online options". At the top, there should be an entry for "invite player" or something like that. Click on the player you want to play with to send him/her an invite. When he/she accepts, you're rockin'. Welcome Bluebelles. Would love to see what you consider "Golden Oldies" in the RB catalog. I play mostly classic rock and alternative rock. Also love the 80's, since that's when I grew up. (I still can't think of 80's music as classic rock. That's just wrong). If playing for fun is what you want, you came to the right place.

hey guys thanks for the response to my inquirey. I have been a gh fan until they shut everything down and now closed off the website.I got key board and rb3 for christmas and so am just getting into rockband. I have an arthritic little finger so I am limited to medium though I am hitting the fifth note now most of the time. I just made the move from easy to medium on keys and am trying now to do some songs on hard for guitar and bass. but understand "I don't sing and I dont drum." so tomorrow I will have entered the following numbers. hey I know this is old stuff but if no solution yet...I had a similar problem and emailed nintendo their tech guy took over my computer and set some programing into it mainly an update and some port info. the main thing is they solved my online problems the tech later checked back to see if it was OK. "golden oldies" As I understand this term relates to classic rock tunes that achieve gold record status during the golden age of radio. Dick clark show on tv posted top 50 and if you listen to the radio at night before you go to sleep (about 1 am) they play old Dick Clark programs featuring hits from those years. Including but not limited to Beatles, Beach boys, Tokens, Frankie Valli, Everly Bros, jan and Dean, Rolling Stones, Iron Butterfly, etcusually early fifties throu early eighties. mostly BC 1 (before computers) to present day. LOL

DLCQuickplay.com is a website that RB and GH folks use to show others which songs they own for each particular game. It is a social website as well as tool to find other players with the same music/songs you have.

Skype is a free downloadable "Chat" program. You can IM, voice chat, or even video chat (I stay away from that one, I don't want to lose any friends). We use it to chat during online sessions to talk about the setlists we are playing or want to play.

Hi RB3 OMB'ers. I'm 45 from Toronto. I usually play after my afternoon shift work to wind down(Tues to Sat.,between 12:30am-2:00am EST). I can hold my own pretty good on my available instruments.
I prefer hard guitar and some expert, but I can do a few more experts on bass.
I just don't have the coordination to hit that foot pedal on pro drums, so it's med. for me but I can do limited hard.
I can expert just about any song on vocals. No big suprise, I just hum into the mic during any tough sections (Oh, like you don't).
Aside from the obvious RB3 songs, I have RB2 and Greenday full downloads. Some of the notable DLC's are Ring of Fire, Bring me to life, More than a feeling, Do you feel like I do, Dreams, Don't stop believing, Pokerface(Eric Cartman), Lightning Crashes, Black, Surrender, and more.

Bluebelles, Thanks again for a great time. Your keyboard quitting out on you in midsong is no suprise to me. I've countlessly had the same thing happen to me, your playing just fine and then... NO RESPONSE. All I have is four blinking blue lights on my drum keypad, and turning the drum power off and on or disconnecting and reconnecting the doggle just doesn't work. You basically have to restart your wii to clear the problem.

I must admit, playing in a OMB group really helps, it sure beats waiting for a random player(whom usually drops out if you don't at least choose HARD). My drumming is starting to improve and I may start diving in to a few songs on HARD. That foot pedal is still tricky. It's as if you need half your brain to hit the drums with your hands, and the other half to coordinate your feet. BTW, that 100% on Ring of Fire we got last night actually got me 9th place (on drums) even though it was only MEDIUM.

I play expert on guitar, bass, vocals, and keys, but will step down the expert to hard on bass/guitar if my hands are hurting (damn carpal tunnel). I haven't ventured much into drums because I suck royally at the pedal. Just now venturing into ProKeys as well, so that would be on easy still.

I don't mind playing with people who are playing at lower levels - for me I'd rather get in on some band play or challenges than play so much solo!

I've been having trouble too for the last three weeks. Sometimes I could connect but it would cut out then resume later. Last night was the first night I played without incident.

So on that note, does anyone else have this problem? Your playing away just fine and then the game plays on but not your drumming. On the drum keypad area, the four blue lights are strobing and your receiver light is a steady blue. BTW- The batteries are new.
Does anyone know how to repair this, because my only solution so far is to turn off the power and restart the wii entirely to clear the problem?

3. After not playing them for awhile,(because it's was too hard and frustrating), I've started taking a liking to the drums(when it's not crashing). If you invite or accept invite, don't expect any large "Band Scores" with me (...yet). I'll be imersing myself on Hard difficulty in an attempt to get better. I am starting to get a hang of it, but if your the band leader, please wait a few seconds before going on to the next song in a setlist, as I might switch difficulty on some of the more demanding songs.

The flashing blue lights happens all instruments. It's the USB connectors on the Wii, they just go out randomly at times. I have had stretches when it did it quite often, then weeks of no problems. Hasn't happened in over 2 months and counting. Nothing you can do except reset using wii-mote or the console button (no need to power off or unplug, at least for me). The only suggestion I have is to only have the instrument that you are playing plugged in to the back of the Wii. This may cut down on the number of times it happens, but it seems it will still happen at random times.

Stick with those drums, it took me since the beginning of RB1 to move up to where I am now and I still can't do all songs on X. But it is so much fun. One thing that helped me moving up difficulties is playing the songs on breakneck speed on the level you are good at, then playing that song on the next diff. at regular speed. The timing will be the same, just more notes.
