Anyone using a projector? I'm using the Optoma HD70. It's a DLP Porjector however I'm doubting that the DLP TV setting in calibration is for me. Is this more so for an actual DLP TV or is this referring to a projector?
Anyone have any cool setups with a projector or how they've positioned the instruments?

I have an LCD projector, and I just went through the manual calibration instead of using the presets. When I had the 5.1 surround enabled, I had an A/V offset of 100ms. Using this setting made the video and audio sync up just fine for regular notes, but that huge delay in the drum fills was driving me crazy. So, I turned off the 5.1 surround and that reduced the offset to 20ms. This is where I'm playing now, and seems to be the best I can do.
I don't think the projector itself is any kind of a special problem over a rear-projection TV. The issue we have is that there is no audio input on the projector, as there are no speakers. This means you have to use a seperate receiver, and that seems to introduce the lag. Also note that I'm using the PS3 version with the PS3 component cable connector to the receiver, then component switched up to the projector. A direct run might be faster. Also, it might be faster if you use HDMI switching into the receiver and out to the projector. My projector (InFocus SP5000) does not support HDMI reliably, so this is not an option for me.
I don't know as my setup is particularly cool. It's different because the PS3 is at the back of the room, but that just helps keep the room clear of cables. It sure is sweet having a 136" diagonal screen size, though. 8)
Good luck!
