It's inevitable that one day this platform of RB will be replaced by a new and better RB2, however I just have a single plea - please, please, PLEASE let DLC carry over to the updated game. :D

It would be nice. It would also be cool to just get $20 expansion packs twice a year or something. Perhaps spanning dfferent eras/ genres. Maybe a Country Star expansion, my girlfriend would be great at singing some country songs, she has some trouble with the hard rock. A little, 10 song holiday pack could be fun too for maybe 10 bucks! Who doesn't want to sing christmas carols!? Maybe we should stay away from rap though because then a turn table and a gold grill would have to ship with the game, and thats money I don't really want to spend.

ROFL - That grill would definitely add to the cost.

I would love it if the game would just be a platform for DL versus a multi-release title. I wonder if the revenue model for DL can be more beneficial to Harmonix/EA than disc sales. If RB2 could be a 20-30 dollar DL to my HDD that would be the best scenario. Make the original disc required to play old tracks, but make it available for purchase for 70 and you get RB 1 and 2 in one purchase for newbies. This way you can play the old with the new - this has always been one of my issues with GH - The old stuff ends up getting lost with the new game updates.

DL of the new version could be a way to get around the royalty issues of shipping songs with a new disc.

good points, and for those without live perhaps there could be something where the cds are just used to install the songs for later use. Then those of us with live could maybe pay a speck less for saving the cost of a cd

yes, I def don't want to have another GH series where I have to keep switching discs around, DLC or an upgrade disc to HDD would def get my vote, and I like the idea of different "packs" even if they're offered through XBL as DLC 30 songs for $30 or something similar and then still do the singles for $2 a pop.
this title def has potential, and i'm sure it'll prob be the king of holiday sales w/the PS2 version still yet to release.

If you don't have Live that means you don't have the internet, with Silver being free and all that is needed to buy DLC. If you don't have the internet... well... sucks to be you.
