Wii Rock Band 1 Export

Is there or will there be an option for Wii owners to export their Rock Band 1 tracks to Rock Band 2 like the 360 and PS3 can?

At this point, I would not expect it. The export option uses the RB1 disc and requires a patch. As of now, it appears that Wii owners will not be able to receive such a patch and, therefore, the option to export the RB1 tracks.

Well that's disappointing. I know there have been updates you have to install before some games will work, but those are system updates not game updates, correct?

I have never had a problem playing a game without updating my Wii. Wii updates are simply system and channel updates to my knowledge. My 360 won't allow me to play some games online without patching the game.

The best way that I could think that they could allow for RB1 exporting would be to create a channel that would allow for you to export the songs to your SD card while the RB1 disc is in the system.

Storage issues.
It was annouced a while back that Wii and PS2 would not be getting the export feature.

Storage problem as in we don't want you to fill up your SD card with $5 Rock Band 1, when you could give us a lot more money for DLC to fill it?
