Ok, I know that the teen gamers will not like it, but this is geared to the older set with younger kids, or maybe even the kinder older bother.....
How about a kiddie download? My 5yrs is dying to play, but doesnt know the words or could handle the drumming for the songs on ther.
A Disney set? A Christmas song set? (I want any way to embarras my OLDER parents) Lorie Burkner? (a kiddie song writter)
I bet you would be surprised at the # of people that WOULD download it.

I was going to suggest this too! I think it's necessary. Kid stuff and a Christmas song list too!

As a vocalist, Christmas list would rule, and rights are out there so should be cheap to snatch up.
Ha, too bad we didnt get Adam Sandler's Thanksgiving song...maybe as an Anniversary download, HMX?

Fantastic... there was another topic requesting Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers, too. My kids LOVE to play, but they're very limited in which songs I'll expose them to at their ages, so some kid stuff would be VERY appreciated.

How about cartoon themesongs? I remember the old school toons like GI Joe, Master of the Universe, and cartoons of that day had guitar-n-vocal intros. Very cheesey reverb and all.
Even better would be updated rock/metal covers. If you're familiar with the Minibosses (who mostly do videogame metal) they do a great version of the GI Joe theme.
All the cartoon theme songs I remember are from the mid-80s to the mid 90s, so I'm sure people who are younger or who have kids of their own could probably think of more reccent themes that would either be RB-ready (that is guitar/bass/drum/vox) or interesting enough to have a rock cover produec.
Other canidates might include the theme from The Raccoons, which was a new wave song that I think would actually be pretty good for RB. The theme song from Chip and Dale is burned into my memory, but would probably need to be re-performed with a guitar (IIRC it was a synth).
Anybody like that idea, or know of more reccent theme songs that would be appropriate?

I did a little youtube searching, check this out, Inspector Gadget metal mix:

Anyways, I'm sure other people will have good ideas in this direction.

Excellent idea about old cartoon themes. Who wouldn't love to do the Spiderman theme or Batman theme. I'd even go for Underdog, the Munsters themes. not always a vocal but still fun.

Your kid can learn the words to real songs still though
I mean this isnt a bad idea but kids aren't incapable of learning lyrics to full length songs

No, they're definitely not incapable... but there are quite a few of the songs in RB that I really don't WANT my little kids to know the lyrics to.
They'll get exposed to inappropriate words and concepts soon enough, I don't have to provide them at home :p

It is rated T for Teen, yes... and we didn't buy the game for our kids. However, seeing how interested they are in it, and how much fun it is for all of us to play together, having some DLC options that would make it more kid-friendly doesn't seem entirely unreasonable ;)
And if you don't like Hannah Montana, you're more than welcome not to download it :p
(And I won't even complain about the DLC that's already there that I don't like, either :p )
