Quick Question

I have had GHWT(with the instruments) and RB2(just the game) for quite some time now but I have grown tired of the faulty drums from GHWT and I was thinking of buying another guitar hero from gamestop and then return the one that I have been playing with because I am not satisfied how the instruments work (they are kinda faulty and you have to hit the drums hard even after calibrating them :( ). And if Gamestop hopefully takes the old band kit then I would return the new guitar hero band kit to Walmart claiming that it was a gift (which it kinda is) and then if they accept it, I would buy the rock band kit (because I like the drums better and they are more reliable). It just feels kinda weird trying to play with out the orange cymbal in RB2 and with it in GHWT and i feel that the bass pedal will crack because it's not reinforced with metal like RB2's is. Sorry if this is off topic but I'm just trying to come to a conclusion. Please give me your thoughts on if this would work and why or why not and also give suggestions (if any).

yea i just want to get it off my mind because i feel the drums are going to give out on me.
