Ok... I think they missed a big portion of great 80's music, especially from one band that had huge hits, which would be aweseom to have a on a setlist... Def Lepard!:D

I think it might have something to do with they didn't want to package an extra four foot pedals with the game for use in just one song.

HAHAHAH. 4 foot pedals. Nice. Anyways, I agree with the creator of this thread. Where the hell is Def Leppard?

Well having no Def Leppard to this point will save my furniture as I have yet to pull off my best Steve Clark shape throwing moves. They need to add High N Dry, Pyro, Hysteria without a doubt. I would like all of their catalog. Nice comment about the 4 foot pedals.

I can't believe between GH1, GH2, GH3, GH80's and Rock Band that not a single Def Leppard song has been included. I would prefer they include one in Rock Band. They are a definite gapping hole in the set list!!
Photograph would be awesome! Pour Some Sugar on Me and Animal would be great too.
Def Leppard!!!!!!!!! Please include them as DLC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pour Some Sugar On Me would be an instant buy for me if they released it as DLC.

Because most of the players drumming have two arms?
...or was that in really poor taste...?

Maybe for the fact the lead singer always sang through a vocal harmonizer and in all reality he cannot sing worth a damn....

So do anything pre-Hysteria and we'll be good:)

I'm guessing it's a matter of licensing and permission. Def Leppard are probably on the same boat as AC/DC. They just won't give Harmonix permission...but that's pure speculation.

But prolly dead on!
It wouldn't take much for a band to be ostricised or shut out...all the bands that are wanting in, and some of the reluctant ones that HMX REALLY wants and is courting...all it would take is a band's agent to say, "ok, but we want..." and the phone goes dead.

I guess I just don't understand the reasoning behind not letting Harmonix put their songs in this game. I barely know any of the bands or songs that came in GHII, GHIII, or Rock Band due the type of music I listen to, but it opened my eyes (and ears) to a lot of bands that I may download or buy in the future. To me, this game is a great way of getting your music out to those that might not normally listen to it which could translate to more downloads and disk and ticket sales. But maybe that's just me.

I wouldn't bash a band too much for holding out for higher licensing fees: realize that a lot of these guys are living entirely on residuals from their 80s work at this point. I mean, seriously, how well did the last Def Leppard album sell (and when did it come out, again)?
It's just a question of the agents taking care of their people. I'm sure they're not trying to break the bank in negotiating with MTV Games/Harmonix, but they want what they believe is fair compensation, even if most of us see that as an insane amount of money.

Believe me, Def Leppard never has to work another day in their lives with all the albums and all the tickets they have sold. They still fill the house up today. They ain't hurtin for money.
Some bands just dont want to license their songs as they think it dilutes the value of their brand. I am a huge def lep fan and I would love to see their songs in these games. Photograph and Animal would be my top 2 songs that I think would be great to play in this game.....

Add my name to the list of people wanting to play some Def Leppard.
If it had to only be three songs, I'd choose:
Animal
Rock of Ages
Foolin'
But I'd absolutely love Pyromania or Hysteria as album downloadables.
As it is, I'll just have to be content playing Bang Camaro, whom I think sounds very much like early Def Leppard from the On Through the Night and High N Dry days.

Bang Camaro totally sounds like old skool Def Lep. I still want the real thing in the game though!!
