Ok for all those people who have broken their strum bar or drum pedal. Use common sense this is what some consider to be a toy. I am 6'10 I love this game. I dont abuse the strum bar. I use my thumb with care and my foot I am as ginger as possible. All you people who are *****ing about this consider what you bought. Be careful with how you treat your stuff. I do and I have been playing this game all the damn time. My strum bar is just fine and my foot pedal has the same resistance as it did the day i bought it

Please think before posting next time. You're a fool for assuming that everyone who has a damaged peripheral, abuses their instruments. That is simply not true.

Let me guess, you are playing easy or medium on the drums?

OP,
Are you really serious? If this problem were localized to one or two individuals, I would whole-heartedly agree. Unfortunately, this is a widespread issue. It happens for me and I am incredibly careful with my equipment (head out of gutter people.. hehe). Just b/c something has broken, doesn't mean it was the owner's fault. Maybe you don't know, but many of the original wireless GH3 controllers had issues too. This is somewhat common, albeit unfortunate, in these games.

I agree with Midwest but you don't have to play hard to play accurate or fast on the drums

I used to think that it was because of people abusing their equipment as well, until yesterday. I'm 6'7" (if we're qualifying abuse with stature) and I've been mainly playing the drums. My bass pedal still seems to work fine, however my red and blue pads are not registering all their hits. From what I've been reading on these forums, it is a fairly common problem.
In addition to this, my guitar's downstrum no longer works. My wife has been the one playing that and has been complaining that it hasn't been registering all her strums for a few days now, but I just put it off as maybe she wasn't strumming on time. It is now to the point where you can't navigate the menu's in the game by strumming down. I've completed the replacement requests for both the guitar and the drums and I'm hoping the next batch I get will work correctly and hold up for more than a week.
We love the game and look forward to playing more of it. I'm a little disheartened by the quality of the equipment we received at first, but hopefully we'll receive replacements that will work for years to come.
I may be stating the obvious, but sometimes people have validated complaints or issues with things.

The problems with instruments are not universally from abuse. There may be a few cases where players have rocked out too hard, but I know my guitar was handled as gentle as a baby from opening until it started double strumming.

If you keep your foot on the top part of the kick pedal you should be fine. the mid part is awfully flexible though. I curl my toes over the top edge so i dont push through it.

hm..
i agree that the people coming on here *****ing and crying need to go outside and get some fresh air for a change.. but i disagree with your post because you assume that the ONLY way for things to be damaged is becuz the person was careless
my strum bar stopped working, and it has nothing to do with me and my friends being wreckless.. im not complaining though cuz i still have two GH guitars and i'll get a new strat with the warranty.. so its no big deal
