Does it come with a "Transfer cord"? I don't want to spend $150 on a 120 GB HDD, so what does the 60 GB HDD come with? I know it has the headset and 3 month gold thing with it, but what about that cord? I don't want to have to redownload everything and lose all my saved data. Please help. =[

Last I knew, that was the spartan edition that did that, but yah, no system has the Transfer cord with them for Hard Drives (since they think you're keeping the 60 GB). I have my cord and disk if you need it, plus not even 5 miles away (Richmond).

no i'm just wondering if when i buy the 60 GB HDD by itself if it comes with a transfer cord, and if not - how can I get one? ( BTW I'm on the normal 360, not the Elite. )

i hope you're right - i heard and saw the 60 GB HDD came by itself, and to get the cord, you needed a 360 Elite and normal 360 code thingy. Then you had to wait a week to get the hard drive. If you're right ( which I'm assuming you are... ) I'll definitely be getting the 60 GB... which is overpriced as it is.

how can i get the 60 GB with a cord then? Or where can I find a cord? $150 for 120 GB is a waste.

Ebay it for cheaper, and the cord standalone is also Ebay, not in stores. As for the 60GB, I thought it came with transfer cords since it is an upgrade for the 12 GB people (then again, check out the Gold Membership kit that has all of that stuff.
Once again, if you need the cord, ;) free here

I have an idea. Get the 60 GB HDD. Get the 512 MB card used from Gamestop to transfer your save data then return it the next day for a refund (or MSP). Then redownload all your stuff fromt the Marketplace. Or you can spend 150 on the 120 GB HDD.

Wait - do you mean the kit with 3 months of Live and the headset or the HDD by itself? As far as I know, it doesn't get sold alone (I'm assuming you're not getting it on eBay, I'm looking in stores), and I got the kit for Christmas; no cable. :(

Yeah, I don't get it either. There are two possibilities if you were going to get it: you got the Arcade, or you're upgrading from the 20 GB. Getting it with the Arcade would be stupid, considering the only advantage would be getting that disk of games, and if you had the 20 GB, you would want a cable.
As for getting the cable, I saw that someone got it from Microsoft for free (mind you, when they got the 60 GB kit; I know you can get it for free when you buy an Elite), and I am not paying $30+ for a cable from an eBay reseller.

The transfer kit (includes a CD and Cable, must have both to transfer) does NOT come with the 60GB Xbox Live Starter Kit. That kit is designed only for people upgrading from a Core or Arcade console. The kit only comes in the 120 GB Hard Drive. One can be obtained from Microsoft ONLY if you are upgrading to an Xbox 360 Elite from an older console. Legitimate serial numbers are needed for the kit request form. Your only option for upgrading to the 60 GB Hard Drive is to buy the kit off ebay or find someone online who has one. Microsoft will likely put out an upgrade kit that is just the hard drive and the transfer kit, though no ETA on that is available.
I've got a spare if you're in VA/NC, send me a PM.
