My wife got me the 360 bundle of Rock Band for Christmas. She doesn't know that I know....:D Anyway, I keep reading about all the hardware failures and such, and I can't help but worry if mine is affected. Since she won't allow me to open until Christmas day, will it be too late to use the warrenty then if it is busted? (Note: she took all components out of the big box and wrapped them individually to try and throw me off.)

Yes I would be worried, you can pretty much garuntee at least one of the instruments will be screwed up.. I thought I lucked out and got a good batch, well after 20ish hours of guitar the strum F'ed up like everyone elses not only that but my drumkit is one of the ones that wont register fast hits either... Such an awesome 180 dollars spend /sarcasm.

oh man...
seriously dont worry about anything you have no control over.
If it doesn't work, stores like walmart will take anything post christmas regardless of where it was bought, just say you never got a gift reciept...

i think i heard that its a 60-day warranty, so i don't think it should be a problem.. plus i dont think anybodys gotten their replacement equipment yet so im not sure how much better the newer models are, but you'll still have about 30 days left on the warranty incase anything does happen

taking it back isn't a good idea because you'll just get another crapped flawed instrument, need to do the warranty although none of us know if the build quality has increased with the replacements.. Guess we'll see in a few days if people ever start getting their replacements.. mine still says billing info received... it should be shipping today

How long's this warranty for? (And where's the info? I seem to have missed it!)

The short answer: no
Either everything will work perfectly, or you will be taken care of with the warranty. (which is a might inconvenient but hardly game-breaking)

Yeah you should be worried. Why dont you show her the threads and pretend that you want to get the bundle but are worried about the problems. Or say honey, just in case you were thinking about getting this for me, you should try the guitar out. Maybe she'll give in and let you try the guitar.
it's not the end of the world for you xbox owner though. You can always resort to les paul or fix the RB guitar yourself (done that and worked great).

Yeah I have both the Les Paul and Xplorer, but the way I see it, if she's spending almost $200 of OUR money, the dang thing better work right. I won't accept that.

Most places will let you take it back if it was purchased after November 1st, but you should be more ready to call in replacement from EA. I have had no problems with my controllers, but I get an occasional DRE. Bookmark the EA support page just to be sure. I'd probably go ahead and place orders for replacements and maybe just not use them if you don't need them. That queue is going to fill up fast once it hits December 25th, so you want to get in it early for replacements.

The replacement warranty is 60 days from the date on which the game was purchased. Even if you purchased it on the release date, 20 Nov, you'd still have well into January to secure a replacement. Now, if you want to just ignore what I just wrote and use the potential failure as a reason to open your present early, that's up to you.;)

I turned mine in last Tuesday morning and I still don't have a tracking # or guitar.
I would have to say I will think twice about another HMX or EA game in the future.
Their customer service is pretty piss poor! I am betting that they are just took a long weekend because they knew this was going to happen. I had over 20 people wanting to buy this game, but not anymore!
Shame on HMX and EA!

the tracking # was given to you right after you do the online replacement.. and with the amounts of people who are getting replacement equipment, it will probably take a little longer than expected.. i wouldnt get too worked up over it, it shouldn't be that big of a hassle

QFT. Even though I got a busted Start and am a bit miffed, I still LOVE this game.

Nope that would be EA tracking # not the UPS or FedEx #.
I do enjoy the game its just sucks that they can't get it right. I even gave them my card # for the express shipping. So much for express!
And the whole, we are doing you a favor by sending it express is a load! They should send it out express for what I paid. Even bought a new 360 system for this game.
I mean almost 50% of these box sets had broken instruments or something else missing.
