Because they were working on the game before the anouncement of the 40 GB PS3 that doesn't have 4 USB ports, unlike all of the other ones.

In shorter, they didn't include them because the PS3 has enough ports. Unless you got the 40 gig.

bah, a better question would be why didn't they set it up with blu-ray. the PS controllers have 99.99% success rate with it, how hard could it have possibly been. Stupid Wires coming out of my PS3, it's like putting PINTO rims on your porsche boxter. Stoopid.

The Xbox 360 Strat isn't wireless at all. Wireless technologies like PS3's bluetooth and Xbox 360's wireless suffer from higher costs and 1st parties (Sony, Microsoft) being largely uncooperative.

Wow...ok. I feel ashamed to be a PS3 owner with this ill-informed knowledge in this thread. :p

1. The only blu-ray is the disc. Which the Rock Band disc is.
2. If you mean bluetooth, the wireless technology, neither Rock Band nor Guitar Hero 3 had the time to implement the system and the CEO of Red Octane has gone on record saying this.

3. To the OP. The 80/60GB PS3 doesn't need a USB hub because it has 4 slots. 4 slots for 4 instruments. The 40 GB PS3 has only 2 slots and the game was too far along in completion to make 2 different bundles for PS3 owners and it would only cause more confusion.

4. Depending on what add-ons the 360 has they have either 2,3, or 4 ports. So some 360 owners with the HD-DVD add-on don't need the hub, but most do.

yeh those Bluetooth costs are INSANE! which is why you can get a Bluetooth-USB-dongle for 4 bucks...
