I just got my Rock Band 2 a few days before Christmas, and unlike everyone else here (It seems), I've never played any GH or RB games before, or anything remotely like them.

All the people looking for online play seem to be hard/expert players which is rather intimidating considering I'm basically easy/medium at the moment. I was wondering if there were any other newbies out there looking to play some online, start a band, or whatever.

Paladin, I'd beg to differ. Taking my band Online has seemed to result in me always landing with Easy/Medium noobs on any instrument I need substitutes for. And they all always fail. You're definitely not alone, don't worry.

I play somewhere between Hard and Expert bass, and to be completely honest I don't mind what skill level my band mates are. The fun of Rock Band is in that everyone can play almost any song as if they were pros, just by setting the difficulty to the correct level for them. I'm finding when I put myself on expert, though, guitarists will tend to do Medium or Hard instead of the skill level they're really at - they probably do feel intimidated, like you said, and want to impress or something - and then they fail the song because it's too difficult.

It's for this reason that I hate how the wii has no voice in multiplayer. I'd like to let people know that I don't care what level they play on, they can play the easiest setting on the easiest song on the easiest instrument for all I care. There's a reason each band member can choose his or her own difficulty.

I don't know how many people out there are like me and don't care either way - it IS the internet, and anonymity DOES cause people to become jerks/elitists/whatever. Me, though, I'm just looking for a good time playing some Rock Band bass with complete strangers over the internet.

My FC is 3293 5621 1386. Feel free to add me.

This guy speaks the truth. A lot of times, especially with these games, people relate the difficulty they play on to the size of their E-Penis/E-Gina and then fail miserably because they cannot play on those settings.

I play Expert. I'm flailing my ass off on a lot of solos, and that means I have to use Overdrive to save myself on some parts. But I can beat the song which is why I play it. If I couldn't I'd drop down to hard since I know I can beat it on hard(this way EVERYONE has a good time, and we don't have to replay the same song 40 times because I keep failing).

TL;DR-Play whatever difficulty you feel comfortable with, no one is going to judge you because you don't play on Hard or Expert.

Thrage, Violence, I added you :)

Unfgvn, feel free to add me, my FC is in my sig. Just be sure to post yours here or PM it to me so I can add you as well. I figured I'd make a thread for all the lower difficulty level people and those who don't mind playing with us to post FCs in :)

I'd love to play here, I usually play hard guitar but some of the harder songs just have to be tackled in medium. My friendcode is in my signature, add me and then drop a post in my profile with your friend code so I can add you and we'll play. Happy Holidays!

This is a good thread... I like the honesty... I am hoping I too can add most of you into my friends list on my wii. As I type this I do not know what my code is, I came across it, but never wrote it down. I will do so tomorrow (Monday) and I will come back to this threat to fill in the blanks.
My wife, kids and myself enjoy playing, and are very new... We don't get to play all the time on a regular basis so far, but would like the idea of having some friends out there to either fill a whole on our band or vice versa, somewhere to link up with to jam a bit.

I couldn't give a rat's a$$ what lvl ppl play with me online. Play whatever level you have the most fun at. I can play drums just about everything hard (tho most times panic attack & visions just beat the bajeezus out of me :P) and can expert maybe 70% of the songs. Weird thing is songs I know really well like Chop Suey and Almost Easy are harder for me on hard than on expert. Like I can't handle too many missing beats or something if I'm used to it on expert. Go figure :)

I only wish you could set difficulty for individual songs in a setlist, cuz often I need to tone down to hard for like one or two songs in a setlist when i can expert the rest. And once in a while I see an easy list, and do expert only to have the host do one of those switch songs challenges and I end up with something brutal and end up flailing & failing ;D

I've saved quite a few ppl, been saved quite a few times and it's always fun. That's all that matters really. Never really played drums before rb1. Been playing rb1 for about 6 weeks, rb2 for a week and just last night got my first ever fc on hard, dont' even remember which song but it musta been an easy one :P Would be happy to play with anyone here any level. I'm always drums, absolutely suck at the guitars so won't even touch em lol.
