Would it be possible to use a drum trigger on a practice pad along with a real bass pedal... connect the trigger to the pad and connect it to the bass input of the RB drum kit?

Will an accoustic trigger activate the bass on the RB drum kit if it is connected to the bass input?

I would like o buy the stuff to do this with, but don't even know if it wuld work or not.

Heh just put this in another post :)

I put my multimeter on a drum pad from my Alesis kit and it's resistance varies depending on the force of the hit. It's not a switch like the RB heads and pedal are. So my guess is that to make it work as a RockBand drum head or pedal (a switch), you would need to build a sensing circuit that trips a relay. This would go in between the drum pad and the pedal jack on the controller.

Do normal drum triggers (for acoustic drums) sense velocity the same as these Alesis pads I have? I dunno.....

Then again I could be full of crap :)

someone's already done basically this hack by rigging up a switch beneath a real bass pedal and wiring the switch to a connector that plugs into the bass pedal socket on the RB kit. Works fine, apparently.
