I think it's a really good idea. I picked up on the hints or unintentional hints that I've seen around ("Have fun and start networking. This is imperative.", "I can now talk about stuff like gameplay, band persistence, some of the cool things we're planning for rockband.com").
If you guys weren't already thinking it, it would be great to let us make a little Rock Band profile about ourselves you know stuff like how well we play, random trivia, experience with the game, etc. Also let us search and talk to other potential band members, while the guy that 100%s a track on Expert may be good, he might be a total ass, take the game way to seriously or not be online enough.
I'm guessing if you guys don't do this, the new incarnation of scorehero for Rock Band probably will have a search type thing.

And once they announce a Wii version, one of those too.

Sora, my friend, I'm worried that you may be crossing the fine line between evangelism and spam.

Hey who wants to start a band! Ill take any part! :)
I DID 5* all the career song for GH2, so I would be a great prospect for Guitar.

I'll take bass or drums. Probably bass. I'm going to be in like 4 different bands so I'll go with something someone won't pick.

I don't think we need a website to get us all together, I think these forums work find for that, we just need a board devoted to getting bands together. Which I think is a great idea.
I'll most likely be playing drums, on either the Wii or if I can't wait for that version to come out, the 360.

I believe there was an early IGN article about rockband being on PS3 and 360 and they said that even though it had not been announced yet there was a Wii version in the works. I'll try and look for the article now. If a Wii version never happens though, I'm going to have to spend a lot of money buying a 360 I guess.
EDIT: nevermind I found it really easily, here you go: Rock Band on Wii (http://wii.ign.com/articles/777/777553p1.html)

Well, this post kind of made me think, and I'd like to get all of you forum regulars onto my 360 friends list, so we can maybe play a bit and get to know each other so when Rock Band finally comes out we can have a nice community band thing going on.
If anyone wants to add me, my gamertag is xOFFSETx. Looking forward to rockin' with some of you!

Are you straight edge, or do u just think X's look cool?
Anyway, yeah, forum bands FTW. I'll prolly get it on XB360, even though I don't have one. I have Wii, but I'm getting a 360 for Halo 3, so I'll be playing PB on there. My gamertag right now is PDMChubby.

Yeah, I've been edge for over 12 years. I've worn the X since before it was fashionable.. :P
PM me your Wii friend code and I'll add you to my friends, even though I don't play Wii much anymore. I tried adding your Xbox gamertag but it said it's not registered *shrug*.

Wait? Having the x's was at some point considered fashionable? Must've missed it.

Well, I meant that in a metaphorical way, not a physical way. Being straight-edge was a bit of a trend around here in the late 90's/early 00's.

Yeah, I see a ton of people on XBOX live with X's and I ask them if they're straight edge and some 11 year old kid will be like "Haha, you're a ***, what's straight edge, did you make that up, ***?" Haha, ignorance.
Forgot, my XBL gamertag is PDM Chubby, I have spaces in sometimes and sometimes I don't. I'll PM you my friend code sometime.

Yeah, I've had a couple of straight edge friends but I never knew that's what the x's in user names was about. I always thought it was a emo thing 12 year old kids did to sound cool... Now that I know they stole it I hate them even more, lol

Haha yeah, kids these days, huh? They need to take some music history lessons! That gamertag added fine, btw. :)

Yeah, it used to be that I could see a username and know they had a (somewhat) similar taste in music, or whatever. Now I bet less than 1% of people with X's in their names even know where it came from! *shakes head sadly*

There is already a whole community in place for this. MySpace. Anyone can create a MySpace profile for either themselves as an individual or for a 'band'
Here is an example for those who may have not seen/heard of MySpace:

I was thinking about this the other night. If your doing the full Rock Band 4 player band career say with your roommate plus 2 other guys online then your going to need to rely on the other 2 ppl you may have never met b4.
If they live across the other side of the world timezones will be different and people might not be able to show up to get though the next set of songs etc.
And what happens if someone quits the band? Do you need to find a new member and start all over again? I hope they do make it similar to this, it'd definitely add to the realism of playing in an actual band.
