ok so i'm stuck (for 3 days now) on trying to connect the drums and guitars. when i start up the game and instruments, the drum/guitar receivers flash blue, and don't blink like they are searching for the guitar/drum anymore.. which means they ARE connected, right? and when they are connected, the drum button and the guitar button on the drums and guitar are turned on BLUE and the 4 little lights are not blinking anymore. and that's the very problem. NONE OF THE 4 BUTTONS ARE LIT UP!!. and then i don't know what to do next to make them light up.
i've tried from pressing the buttons on the receivers to reset the sync, pressing the drum/guitar button and resyncing them. nothing.

I'm going to throw my 2 cents into this thread as well, though I'd like to reemphasize that I'm not a tech support expert from HMX (but i know how much fun it is to rock on a holiday weekend, so I'm putting my experience out there in hopes to help you...)
On the drums and the guitar for the Wii, there should be a small circular button on the controller itself that aids in resyncing (this is NOT the "icon" button). On the drums, this button is located beneath the front edge of the controller; on the guitar it's the small white button found in the space beneath the guitar "icon" button.
Pressing the dongle (USB connector) button and then pressing the guitar/drum "sync" button (the one I described above) should aid in connecting the two. When they're connected, one of the 4 blue LEDs on your controller should light up, signifying that a controller number has been assigned.
Again, I'm sure our EA tech support gurus will have a nice writeup for everyone monday morning when we're all back in the office. I'm not at all an expert, and I'm sure they'll have a smarter description than I do! :)
Yours,

Hi m8, I have the exact same probs unable to sync the drums or guitar except my drums dont have a button on the control pad to sync the drums in... and the 4 sync lights just stay not lite at all... the guitar flashes on for a bit all lights but then go off. So think there is a huge faulty batch of controls out there.
Kids are not happy at all this Christmas...

*agrees with batman*
same thing with my drums and guitar, the guitar button and drum button are lit up blue, but none of the 4 lights are lit up.
i can light up one light on my drum (the first light, which means it's not working because the wiimote is already reserved for the first light) if i hold the + and - buttons, hold the sync button.. and then let go of the + and - buttons.. which is kind of weird. nevertheless, the drum is still not synced even when i do that.
