With a pretty simple bass line, I quickly got bored and started playing like an actual bass guitar, flicking the strum bar with my forefinger. What started as a goof turned into praise from some of the Harmonix team, as the devs are trying to make the new guitar and strum bar suitable for that style of bass playing (the current Guitar Hero strum bars tend to snap back a little too hard, resulting in extra strums and broken note streaks). As it turns out, the prototype felt great for playing bass that way

I play bass that way, even on YYZ, lulz.

That's awesome. They'd still only be playing prototypes though... hopefully the strum bar doesn't change a lot. I'm also hoping it's a little quieter. Most people seem to play by only pushing the strum bar with their thumbs or double strumming but the only way I can play consistently is to get my whole arm into it, which yeah, comes off pretty noisy.

Hopefully we see a new build at E3 with even more songs, as this EA event was like a month ago.

All I can say is this: hoooooooooooo-daaaao (great yell of excitement)
I found myself playing bass with my index and middle finger on some of the tracks, but when there were too many notes, I had to go back to my thumb. I'm glad to hear that the controller is going to suit bassists better this time around.
/Bit off topic/ I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I couldn't help choosing Clive to play bass on "YYZ." To me, he always sorta favored Geddy Lee... in the second one at least. In the first, he reminds me of Eric Clapton if he wore retro-like glasses and didn't have a beard or long hair (well, he doesn't now, but I guess I'm talking like his Cream days... wait, did he even have a beard then?).
