PS3: New Hard Drive, RB/RB2 Will Not Load

I just put in a new hard drive into the PS3 and I cannot play Rock Band or Rock Band 2. Rock Band says it is going to download an update and then my PS3 restarts. Rock Band 2 keeps saying there is a disk read error. All my other games work fine, there are no problems with the RB disks, but they will not play. AC/DC Track Pack will play though. I have come to the conclusion that there really isn't a disk read error but something else is going on. Anyone else have this issue?

Hmm...I guess I have to watch out for this too...my friend got my brother and I a 500gb for Christmas...hopefully this doesn't happen to our PS3 as well.
