I just upgraded my RB1 drum kit to the RB2 drum kit and cymbal pack this past weekend.
I'm loving it, but I noticed that there was a mysterious black mini-jack port on the back. I couldn't find any information in the manuals or online as to what this port is used for.
I'm hoping it's for a 2nd drum pedal?

Right now it's for nothing.
HMX told us during the drum playtest that it should be activated at some later date via a game patch. But what it will be for, nobody knows yet.

for a 2nd pedal you need to have a headphone splitter

Oh c'mon aznman, you're on these Tech Support forums enough to know that doesn't really work :)

It's for a possible high-hat pedal in the future, but it's useless as of now.

When the new rockband metallica comes out it will use two pedals.

It's for possible anything, nobody knows yet what it will be. Don't state that kind of speculation as fact.

Rock Band Metallica? You're confusing this with Guitar Hero: Metallica, young padawan...there is no RB Metallica.

As far as we've seen, that seems to be the case.
